About a couple of months ago, Splinter Cell fans got their hopes up that they would see a potential announcement for a new game in the long-dormant franchise at E3 2018 thanks to an Amazon listing that sparked rumors about its existence. Now, even more evidence seems to be pointing toward a sequel in the stealth-action series being revealed, as Walmart Canada has listed a fresh installment in Tom Clancy-branded property on its website alongside several other unannounced titles.

As seen in the tweet below from the prolific Twitter user Wario64, Walmart Canada's listing has not only stoked the hearts of Splinter Cell fans for a fresh entry, but also it has possibly spilled the beans a tad too early on projects yet to be officially announced such as Gears of War 5, Just Cause 4, and Dragon Quest 2 for PS4 and Xbox One. Additionally, the page has placeholders for titles such as LEGO DC Villains, Forza Horizons 5, a new Assassin's Creed, and perhaps most surprisingly, Rage 2.

The Walmart Canada listing also has pre-order listings for products that have already been confirmed by their developers, such as Beyond Good & Evil 2, Borderlands 3, The Division 2, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Destiny 2's fall DLC. Interestingly enough, when it comes to the lattermost project, the expansion's name is stated as "Comet", which will likely get fans of the science fiction shooter to begin speculating as to what that could mean for the story.

Taking all of this into consideration, there's no telling whether or not these listings on Walmart Canada's website are accurate, but it's not too outlandish a notion to think that the company would have some type of knowledge regarding the release of unannounced games. After all, Walmart is one of the planet's largest retailers, and it maintains myriad merchandising relationships with a wide variety of game developers, so it surely gets insider information every now and again. Nevertheless, gaming fans can only keep their fingers crossed that the titles shown – most notably a new Splinter Cell – will get announcements at E3 2018.

Ubisoft has yet to announce the existence of a new Splinter Cell game.
