Splatoon 3 is adding to its list of available Salmon Run stages by bringing back a location from Splatoon 2. Salmon Run Next Wave, the cooperative 4-player mode in Splatoon 3, only had 3 stages at launch, so another location is likely a welcome addition to many fans. This latest news about the mode comes as players await the launch of Season 2 of the game in approximately a couple of weeks.

Not long ago, Nintendo revealed new details about the upcoming season of Splatoon 3. Known as Chill Season, the developer provided details on a number of different features coming to the arena shooter. For example, it was revealed that two maps would be added to the game, the new Brinewater Springs and Flounder Heights from the original Splatoon. In addition, new weapons, gear, and X Battles have already been revealed. However, the developer is not done revealing upcoming content, continuing to drop new information for eager fans to check out.

Among the latest information revealed was news about Salmon Run for Splatoon 3. On November 18, the Splatoon North America Twitter account announced that a new Salmon Run stage was being added to the game. Specifically, it noted that the location was Marooner’s Bay, which was previously featured in Splatoon 2. The stage was described as “an egg-collector’s dream” based on the message from the developer and would become available with Chill Season on December 1.

In addition, a couple of images of Marooner’s Bay were shown, providing a look at the layout of the returning location. One highlight of the design was the massive ship that took up the majority of the stage. Furthermore, the images provided a look at the sandbar the boat was marooned on. An elevator to the upper level of the ship was visible in one of the shots as well.

Unsurprisingly, many fans have had thoughts on the announcement, with some commenting on the tweet. Numerous gamers appeared to be enthused with the unveiling of more content for Salmon Run, as the post has already gained more than 13.4K likes. While many people seemed happy about the upcoming return of the stage, some noted that they were waiting for the developer to bring back Ark Polaris, another classic Salmon Run stage from Splatoon 2.

Besides this returning stage for Salmon Run, it is worth pointing out that Nintendo is looking to add even more content to Splatoon 3 through Big Run. Teased for a while now, Nintendo has revealed that the event takes the classic Salmonid splatting action of Salmon Run to other maps, such as Wahoo World. Time will tell what other details about Splatoon 3 are revealed ahead of the launch of the next season.
