Many gamers have been checking out Salmon Run in Splatoon 3, and one player has stumbled across a glitch that caused their Inkling to be sucked out of a helicopter while playing the mode. First introduced to the series back in Splatoon 2, Salmon Run has expanded further in Splatoon 3, adding content, such as original stages and new Salmonids to fight. In addition to this new content, it appears there is at least one new albeit amusing bug in the game mode.

Taking to Reddit, a user known as diaperhedgehog shared a video of an unusual encounter they had in Splatoon 3 while preparing to play a match of Salmon Run on the Spawning Grounds. The brief clip started with a group of Inklings sitting inside a helicopter, the intro for Salmon Run. Typically, players enter squid form and launch to the stage below to start the round after flying around the stage for a short time. However, things did not go according to plan this time.

With the camera looking at the Inklings, one of the players suddenly was shot backward out of the helicopter. Adding to the humor of the situation, the other characters in the chopper seemed to pay no attention to the sudden disappearance of their teammate. While it is possible that the unfortunate Inkling spawned in at the start of round one like nothing even happened, it is unclear what exactly happened to them after being sucked out of the helicopter at the beginning of Salmon Run.

Unsurprisingly, a number of gamers have taken notice of this odd glitch captured by diaperhedgehog on Reddit. Since the clip was posted less than a day ago, over 2,000 users have upvoted the post. In addition, many have made jokes about the misfortune of the Splatoon 3 Inkling in this video. For example, one gamer quipped that the players were flying through “some next-level turbulence” before the game began. In fact, another user even noticed that it looked like one of the other Inklings was laughing about the whole ordeal.

It is not surprising that some gamers have encountered a few bugs in Splatoon 3, considering how large the player base is following its launch. Since the game was released, it has been doing very well in sales. For instance, Splatoon 3 has sold over 3.45 million copies in Japan, more than the sales of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Pokemon Sword and Shield over the same amount of time.

With Splatoon 3 now available for all Switch users to purchase and play, it will be interesting to see what other unusual clips players manage to capture in-game. One thing is for sure; if they are as weird as this video from diaperhedgehog, they are unlikely to disappoint.

Splatoon 3 is available for Nintendo Switch.
