Splatoon 3 was only released within the last week, but one fan has already recreated Deep Cut’s Shiver in another Nintendo game, Miitopia. Along with Frye and Big Man, Shiver forms the idol group Deep Cut who take on the presenting duties in Splatoon 3.

Miitopia started life on the Nintendo 3DS before receiving a Switch port in 2021. In the comedic RPG, players create their own characters by using the Mii creator, which Nintendo has included in multiple games since the Wii era, and fans have been keen to show off their creations, such as the Zeraora from Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon. To that end, Redditor dynamicbeemo has utilized the creation tool to accurately recreate Shiver, allowing the newest idol to assist players on their journey.

Including her hairstyle and triangle eyebrows, and even smaller details like Shiver’s spiked earrings, the recreation is an impressive feat and shows just how flexible the creation tool is. This isn’t the first member of Deep Cut to be made in Miitopia, as the Redditor has also recreated Frye’s likeness. Dynamicbeemo isn’t one to keep the creations to themselves, as both characters come with the relevant access keys so that other players can download them straight into the outlandish RPG to join the party.

When Deep Cut was first unveiled by Nintendo, fans were particularly enamored with Shiver and started speculating about the identity of Splatville’s newest star. This became a hot topic across social media and even caused Nintendo to confirm that Shiver uses She/Her pronouns in Splatoon 3.

It seems fans have fallen in love with not only Deep Cut, but also with the game itself. The latest entry in the Splatoon series has proven an early hit with fans, as Nintendo provided a rare sales update outside their quarterly earnings report. The Japanese giant has confirmed that Splatoon 3 has already surpassed 3.45 million units sold in Japan within its first three days on sale. For comparison, Splatoon 2 managed around 648,000 copies during the same period when the title was released in 2017 which shows that Nintendo has substantially grown the shooter’s appeal.

The next Nintendo Direct is scheduled for September 13, and it could be a chance for Nintendo to reveal what’s next for the online shooter. The developers have previously announced that Splatoon 3 has a two-year plan, including the return of regular Splatfests and future DLC, so it would seem logical that players could see the first pieces of information teased during the presentation.

Splatoon 3 is available now for Nintendo Switch.
