Shortly after starting Splatoon 3, players will be tasked with selecting a look for their characters. During this process, fans must pick a hairstyle, though they may ultimately feel unsatisfied with their initial selection after spending a bit more time with the game. Fortunately, it is possible to change a character's hairstyle in Splatoon 3 an unlimited number of times, and it is actually quite an easy thing to do.

Splatoon 3: How to Change Hairstyle

The first step toward changing a character's hairstyle is to press + on the controller when standing in Splatsville. Pressing this input will bring up a menu that showcases the gear that the character has equipped, and Splatoon players should select the Other tab that appears at the bottom. Fans should then press R until they reach the Style tab near the top of the screen and then select the hairstyle that they would like to wear.

To note, hairstyle is not the only thing that players can change from within the Style menu, as they can also alter their characters' eyebrows and legwear. Fans will need to look elsewhere if they want to don different headgear, clothes, or shoes, though. Indeed, players must purchase those items from Naut Couture, Man-o'-Wardrobe, and Crush Station, and those shops can be accessed quickly from the map by pressing X when in Splatsville.

With respect to what players will need in order to buy headgear, clothes, and shoes, varying amounts of Cash are required. This very important currency can be obtained in a variety of ways, with Splatoon 3's online multiplayer battles serving as a very consistent source. Notably, the amount of Cash that is awarded from engaging with these battles is contingent upon a player's performance, incentivizing participants to put in a solid effort.

Cash is not the only thing that fans will earn from participating in multiplayer matches, though, as these battles also award points. It is with these points that characters will increase their levels, and players will receive a Sheldon License in Splatoon 3 every time that occurs. These Licenses can then be taken to Ammo Knights, which can be accessed through the aforementioned map, and exchanged for new weapons.

Players can also get some Sheldon Licenses by having a Splatoon 2 save file on their consoles. In fact, these are special Gold Sheldon Licenses, which have some additional value due to the fact that they can be used to unlock any weapon regardless of a player's current level.

Splatoon 3 is available for Nintendo Switch.
