Tableturf battles are a new single-player addition to the Splatoon franchise. In Splatoon 3, behind the Grizzco Industries building, there is a space to challenge NPCs to tableturf battles. The player is awarded a beginner's deck, but as they go through more Splatoon 3 content, they will unlock booster packs to make a more personal deck.

Making a stronger deck is important in tableturf battles, as more and more NPCs will be unlocked as the player levels up in tabelturf. These NPCs will steadily increase in difficulty through the rewards such as card sleeves, banners, titles, decorations, emotes, and badges will unlock as more NPCs are surpassed and the player continues to level up.

Making The Best Tableturf Deck (In General)

Tableturf cards.

To edit a tableturf deck, go to the main menu and get to the Status tab. Go past Gear, Catalog, and Abilities to the bottom option, Tableturf Battle. Click on Card List. From there, press Y to edit the decks. Up to 16 different decks can be made.

In general, a player wants their deck to be a mixture of cards that take a lot of space and cards that take only a little space. It is best to play the bigger cards early when there is still a lot of room on the board to stretch out. Particularly useful big cards are ones that can extend turf to the other player's side and cards that can block the other player from getting into home turf. The smaller cards are for the late game when both sides are running out of room. The best of these cards are often diagonal in direction so that they can squeeze through the opposing player's cards.

Another part of making the best deck is finding cards that fit well together. When editing a deck, players can click the plus button on their Nintendo Switch to test the placement of the cards on the different tableturf stages. The player is able to then experiment with different cards and how they fit together. It is best to have a deck that can fill in as much negative space as possible.

Making Different Decks For Different Stages And NPCs

Deck list.

Making the strongest deck, in general, is a difficult matter. Another method to climbing the tableturf ladder is by taking advantage of multiple decks for multiple uses. There are eight different stages battles can be played on. They are Thunder Point, X Marks the Garden, Square Squared, Lakefront Property, Double Gemini, River Drift, Main Street, and Box Seats. With 16 spaces for decks, a player can easily make eight desks personalized for each stage. For example, the River Drift stage is best for thinner straight-line cards, and Double Gemini is best for diagonal cards.

There are a total of 18 NPCs to tableturf against as well. The more difficult opponents may require a tailored deck to trump their strategy. For example, Murch has cards that can fit perfectly into each other. A player can make a deck to specifically make it harder for him to fit his cards together.
