Halloween, the spookiest time of the year, is approaching fast, and Nintendo has already started celebrating with all of the Halloween-themed items that were recently added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It won’t be the only game getting into the spirit of the holiday, however, as Splatoon 2 will be holding another encore Splatfest at the end of the month.

Nintendo announced this week that it’s bringing back the Halloween-themed Splatfest, known as Splatoween. Like the previous iteration from 2018, the event will have Splatoon 2 players pick sides in a two-day battle between Team Trick and Team Treat. Team Treat was the one that won last time, but players will have a chance to change that as Team Ketchup did against Team Mayo in the first Splatfest rerun earlier this year.

Splatoween 2020 will start on October 30 at 3:00 PM PST/6:00 PM EST and will end on November 1 at 2:00 PM PST/5:00 PM EST. Later this month, Nintendo will also be giving out the free Halloween-themed gear from the original event via the Switch News channel, giving players who missed them the first time a chance to remedy that. In the meantime, they can prepare for the event by reminiscing on Splatoon 2's weirdest Splatfests.

Another repeat Splatfest might not be the most exciting news for players who have been wanting to see what the future holds for Splatoon beyond the reruns, but at the very least, Nintendo does have one new Splatfest planned. This January, Splatoon 2 will host a special Super Mario-themed Splatfest to celebrate Mario's 35th anniversary, which will give players something new to fight over.

Splatoon 2 is available for Switch.
