As part of an ongoing quest to thoroughly publicize every facet of the forthcoming Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, the good people at Activision have released yet another trailer for the game. Not that I'm complaining -- when a game looks this good, I'd like to see as much as possible.

This time out, the video focuses on Spider-Man's Negative Zone suit. The suit, in addition to making Spider-Man look tough, makes the web-crawler practically invisible. All the better for some sneaky Arkham Asylum style take-downs of Spidey's foes.

If, by some chance, you haven't been following Shattered Dimension's progress, here is a quick recap, courtesy of the game's latest press release:

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is a thrilling action-packed adventure set in four dramatically different universes from legendary Spider-Man lore, each with a distinct Spider-Man armed with unique skills and strengths, in one original storyline.  Players will be transported to new locations never before seen in a Spider-Man game, from lush jungles and dusty deserts to various urban terrains.  Acclaimed Marvel comic book writer Dan Slott takes players on a mission to contain the magical energy of the Tablet of Order and Chaos, which has been shattered and sent hurtling across parallel universes, and battle fan-favorite villains in a quest to restore the fabric of reality.

Needless to say, your friends at Game Rant are looking forward to this one. The voice casting seems right on, the concept of the game sounds solid, and the visual distinctiveness of the four universes should keep things fresh throughout the experience.

Of course, expectations of what a superhero-centered game can be have been largely reset in the wake of Rocksteady Studios' masterful Batman: Arkham Asylum. Though Spider-Man has had his share of gaming successes, does the Webbed Wonder have what it takes to hang with the Dark Knight in today's gaming landscape? And are developers Beenox, most recently responsible for the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen game, up to the task?

Let's hear it, Ranters. Are you anticipating Shattered Dimensions? Is the reboot the Spider-Man's videogame career needs?

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions swings into action September 7, 2010, on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, and PC.
