Activision apparently believes that gamers just can’t get enough Spider-Man. To put that theory to the test, Activision decided to not just showcase Peter Parker, the Spider-Man we all know and love, in its latest web-slinging title. Instead, it has packed as many Spider-Man doppelgangers as it could (four) into one game.Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions has players taking on the role of Noir Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, Amazing Spider-Man, and Ultimate Spider-Man in a universe-traversing quest to piece back together a powerful tablet.

How exactly will each Spider-Man's story play out? The following trailer is revealing:

The footage gives a great sense of how each Spider-Man across the various universes will play whilst also getting a peak at some of the familiar villains gamers will be taking on. In my opinion, the only thing missing was Stan Lee’s narration. Imagine this trailer opening to his sage-like monologue. It gives me chills just thinking about it. Speaking of which, if you listen closely, you'll catch Neil Patrick Harris continuing his Peter Parker voiceover work as the Amazing Spider-Man. Doogie sure is in demand these days.

Activision has distributed so many trailer reveals showcasing the hidden secrets of Shattered Dimensions, is there anything we haven’t already seen? Obviously, we expect to get a general idea of the game, seeing all of the universes and getting a competent understanding of them. But having those moments of nostalgia when a Marvel fan can giddily laugh, makes games like this an experience unlike any other. I have faith that some elements of the game are still being kept under wraps.

With the game only a mere week away, Shattered Dimensions hopes to reinvigorate the Spider-Man property. Keep your fingers crossed that all of this fantastic footage we have been seeing is not just hindering our true vision with webbing.
