Spider-Man: No Way Home has been in theaters for roughly a month, and much of the film's success is due to returning characters from previous Spider-Man films, particularly Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's versions of the web-slinger. After witnessing the trio of Spider-Men in action, especially in the film's thrilling climactic battle, one of the film's artists has shared some of that fight's concept art from early stages in production.

The Spider-Man: No Way Home final fight scene takes place at the Statue of Liberty, where all the Spider-Men are forced to take on the Green Goblin's (Willem Dafoe) sinister squad and try to restore the opening of the multiverse that has allowed heroes and villains from other universes into the MCU. Marvel Studios artist Marek Okon, who collaborated with fellow artist Maciej Kuciara, has now shared a conceptual version of the final battle.

"It felt like I was working on a fanart rather than production asset. With so many iconic characters in one frame I was geeking out the whole time," shared Okon on Twitter. Okon, whose other Marvel credits include Captain America: Civil War, revealed that the fight was meant to be more elaborate and that some parts had to be cut out. Leaving those parts in most likely would've pushed the film closer to three hours compared to its theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 28 minutes.

Luckily, Okon and many other artists were able to work on some concept art for the final battle, which almost didn't come to be. According to No Way Home writer Chris McKenna, who co-wrote the film with Erik Sommers, the inclusion of the Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and so many other Spider-Man villains almost wasn't a thing, as the film was originally going to feature them in a post-credits scene instead. But since it did happen, Okon was able to visualize and create some gorgeous, detailed drawings, which lead to what was seen on the big screen, something Marvel fans will now never forget.

Other than its box office success, Spider-Man: No Way Home has met with overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and fans, now becoming one of the MCU's highest ranked films on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 93%. Not only does the film successfully tie in previous Spider-Man characters, but it also does a great job of concluding Tom Holland's Peter Parker origin story and setting the character up for future stories.

Spider-Man: No Way Home also stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Zendaya as MJ, Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Thomas Haden Church as Sandman, Rhys Ifans as Lizard, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, Benedict Wong as Wong, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson.
