The Marvel Contest of Champions game may have revealed another hint toward the inclusion of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the upcoming release of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The Marvel game was first released in 2014 and includes a long list of potential battles and quests for users to embark on as they attempt to create their own team of Marvel heroes and villains. Three of the newest chapters in the game have titles that may confirm the long-rumored appearance of two actors in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The side quest entitled "A Sinister Celebration" allows users to "relive some of Spider-Man's greatest big-screen battles...with a holiday twist!" Its cover photo includes Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Mysterio, and Vulture. It is accompanied by three distinctive chapters with suggestive titles and images that may confirm the appearances of Maguire and Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The first chapter is entitled "To Be or Not To Be?" with a photo including Green Goblin and Doc Ock. Chapter two is entitled "And Rue the Day" with a photo of Electro and Rhino, while chapter three is entitled "Tomfoolery" with an image of Mysterio and Vulture.

Each chapter name appears to reference one of the Spider-Man actors. "To Be or Not To Be?" sounds much like Maguire's first name, Tobey. The image that accompanies the Maguire reference adds to the implication of his No Way Home appearance. Doc Ock and Green Golbin were the villains of Maguire's first two Spider-Man films, and both will appear in No Way Home. The same argument can be made for "And Rue the Day," as it sounds like Garfield's first name, Andrew. Electro and Rhino were two villains that Garfield's Spider-Man faced in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. "Tomfoolery" is the most obvious of the titles, serving as a clear reference to the current Spider-Man actor Tom Holland. Mysterio and Vulture's appearances in the image that accompanies it are also references to Holland's first two Spider-Man films.

Doc Ock, Green Goblin, and Electro are already known to be part of Spider-Man: No Way Home. They will be joined by Sandman and the Lizard, leaving many to wonder who the final member of the Sinister Six might be. Vulture and Mysterio have already been defeated by Holland's Spider-Man, and Vulture is currently serving out his prison sentence from the events of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Mysterio is thought to be dead and his death is a huge reason for the events of No Way Home. The chapters from Marvel's Contest of Champions may imply that Rhino will reappear in the MCU and complete the Sinister Six.

As the date for Spider-Man: No Way Home draws closer, fans have not given up hope that Maguire and Garfield may appear in the film. Marvel continues to drop hints toward the inclusion of the actors despite making no official announcement that they will be there. Even in light of all the rumors, the mere potential arrival of Maguire and Garfield in No Way Home could be one of the most magical moments for many years to come.

Spider-Man: No Way Home premieres in theaters on December 17, 2021.
