Spider-Man: No Way Home has been a critical and financial success since it was released last month. However, when it did arrive, it did so without a character that was apparently originally supposed to appear. Some newly released concept art showed that America Chavez that could have changed up how the latest Spider-Man movie told its tale.

Spider-Man: No Way Home brought in a ton of different characters, mostly from an alternate reality after he and Doctor Strange tried to cast a spell that was supposed to make everyone forget that Peter Parker was the web-head. While most of the crossovers were famous Spider-Man villains, as well as former Spider-Men from outside the MCU, there was at least one character who might have been planned to appear but never did join the fray.

Twitter account Doctor Strange 2 Updates got ahold of some concept art for Spider-Man: No Way Home that showed the hero who was supposed to, but never made an appearance. That concept art shows none other than America Chavez making her official MCU debut. In the picture, America Chavez is standing in front of Peter Parker and MJ, while all kinds action appears to be unfolding around them on the streets of New York City. It's not entirely clear where in the movie this particular scene was supposed to unfold, and now it's a bit of a moot point since it never actually took place.

Having ended up not appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home, America Chavez is now going to make her MCU debut in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While it hasn't been confirmed that this particular concept art is gospel as far as when the character was going to first surface, it is well known that delays with Doctor Strange 2 did change up the story in both movies at least a little bit. That seems to lend some credence to the idea that America Chavez's debut was planned to be earlier than fans will get to meet her now.

Most notable is that Doctor Strange 2 was originally supposed to hit theaters before No Way Home until it was delayed several different times. Instead, the movie is now supposed to deal with the aftermath of the holes that were ripped in reality by the spell the Avengers heroes wove. That also means that America Chavez would have still been introduced in Multiverse of Madness but could have actually been making her second appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters.
