Without a doubt, there's something special about Marvel's Spider-Man that just launched for PS4. Not only is it the fast-selling Marvel game to date, but it has also broken a number of records. Now, a promotional event for the game has also broken a Guinness World Record that few likely knew existed: the most people dressed as the web-slinger in one place.

A few days ago, Marvel and Sony organized the event at the Stockholm Comic-Con event. Arguably, with the popularity of Spider-Man, there wasn't a better time for the two companies to host this event. Together, the two companies managed to gather 547 people in one location, officially breaking the Guinness World Record.

For context, the record was previously held by a group in Sydney, Australia at a total of 438 people. The record-breaking attempt was detailed online by Marvel's Chief Editor C.B. Cebulski with a before and after shot of the attempt. Clearly, this event didn't take long either, as the before tweet was made at 4:42 AM and the record was broken by 7:08 AM. Check them out below:

While this may seem inconsequential to some, it makes a lot of sense for Marvel and Sony to do as much in light of Spider-Man as possible. This is because it's not just the fastest-selling Marvel game to date, but Insomniac Games' action-adventure title has also broken sales records for Sony, as it is also the fast-selling first-party video game in the publisher's history.

In fact, the game is so popular that it inspired our list of Marvel characters we want to see get their own game. Perhaps one day, one of those characters will get a Spider-Man level video game and also get a record for most dressed as the character in one place. But until then, Spider-Man reigns supreme.

Spider-Man is available now exclusively for the PS4.
