Ever since Marvel's Spider-Man dropped the Easter egg explaining that The Avengers were "on the west coast," there has been a lot of speculation on whether the upcoming Marvel's Avengers takes place in the same universe. While there is some solid evidence to back this claim up, the developers have a habit of being rather coy and mysterious whenever the question presents itself.

However, if this is the case, could this be the start of a gaming-style Marvel Universe? With all the Easter eggs that were discovered in Marvel's Spider-Man, the possibilities could be endless of how much this world can expand and how many characters can fit in it. If Marvel's Avengers succeeds, here are 10 possible spin-offs that could come from Marvel's Spider-Man.

10 Morbius The Living Vampire

While the game doesn't give too much detail on the character of Dr. Morgan Micheals, the scientist behind the creation of the Devil's Breath, he does have some lengthy lore in the comics. He is an alias of Dr. Micheal Morbius, a biochemist who, while desperately trying to cure his debilitating blood disease, accidentally transforms himself into a living vampire after experimental treatment involving vampire bats.

This transformation gave him a combination of enhanced strength, flight and the ability to hypnotize this enemies (or prey), which could be an interesting experiment for the industry to tackle. While the horror-side of the Marvel Universe is rarely explored in this media, Morbius could be a welcomed step outside the norm. Who knows, this could lead to a cameo from our favorite vampire hunter, Blade.

9 Daredevil

Despite the prologue, we all know that Wilson Fisk won't stay behind bars for long. If only there was a ninja in red tights somewhere out there to keep the Kingpin in check. Funny enough, there are a surprisingly high number of Easter eggs connecting to Daredevil in the game. Not only can you find the law office of Nelson & Murdoch but you can also find the Clinton Mission Shelter where his mother Sister Maggie operates, Fogwell's Gym where Matt works out and Josie's Bar, a frequent hang out for him and his friends.

After the Batman Arkham series changed the game with free-flow combat mechanics, the addition of Spider-Man's acrobatic combat and Daredevil's heightened radar sense could make for an interesting gaming experience.

8 Doctor Strange

Take a leisure swing downtown and you might run past a certain location that has always felt a little "strange" to Spider-Man, the Sanctum Sanctorum. Granted, with all the powers that Doctor Strange wields, this would be a difficult character to bring to the gaming world, but not impossible.

From his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it demonstrated that his main weapon is a sling ring, which opens up portals, summons shields and even a whip. He can also multiply himself, use his cloak to fly, handle himself in a fight and even manipulate time. There is a lot of play around with here and a game would be possible to bring to our screens.

7 Iron Fist

Iron-Fist-Rand-Corporations

Contrary to Netflix's portrayal of the character, Iron Fist can be a complex, driven and even likable character. Danny Rand's father was the head of the mega-conglomerate business, Rand Corporation, until both him and wife were killed in a plane crash. The only survivor was Danny himself, who was brought to K'un-Lun by monks where he learned to harness the power of the Iron Fist.

While the television series' deep dive in the corporate side of Iron Fist's story was criticized for being boring, a game could spice it up a little bit. Throwing some mystery in the mix of who killed Danny's father, who's trying to take over the company and so forth. Throw in some fast-paced combat and there could be a winner here.

6 Black Panther

Ever since Black Panther made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe two years ago, the character's popularity has skyrocketed, matching that Iron Man or Captain America. So much so that if you explore long enough in Marvel's Spider-Man, you'll be able to find the Wakandan Embassy.

Honestly, this character should be a no-brainer to fit in the gaming universe. A master of hand-to-hand combat, an unlimited supply of wealth, gadgets galore, how could this not make for a great AAA game!

5 Black Cat

Black-Cat

What seems like another no-brainer, we've seen what this seductive feline can do in Marvel's Spider-Man's DLC The City That Never Sleeps and it'd be great to see her in her own video game. Nearly 10 years ago, Batman: Arkham City was released and demonstrated what a cat-like comic book character can do at the helm of the gamer. The claw-like hand-to-hand combat, the flips and kicks and the whip being a primary weapon, there's a lot that can be done with a character like this.

Not to mention how Black Cat constantly trapeze-walks the line of hero and villain because, while she does have it in her to do the right thing in the end, she does also have a deep love for shiny things. It'd be interesting explore the moral choices of Black Cat through a system similar to the Infamous series.

4 Venom

Despite the mystery lingering from the game's epilogue, there are actually some clues to suggest that Spider-Man has already tangoed with his symbiotic adversary before the events of the game. For one, when searching for Peter Parker's old backpacks, you'll find one with a good luck card after Parker left the Daily Bugle with a signature from Eddie Brock stating it was nice working with him.

Also, during the mission "Keeping the Peace," Captain Yuri Watanabe makes a quick joke by asking if Spider-Man has a black and white suit for the Policeman's Ball. This could've been a winking moment for the game but Spider-Man's hesitation to answer the question eludes that he's already endured the symbiotic saga in his storyline. As proven in Ultimate Spider-Man, playing as Venom can be incredibly satisfying.

3 Jessica Jones

Along with Iron Fist and Daredevil, you can also find proof that fellow Defender Jessica Jones is also operating in the city when you come across Alias Investigations. This could be one of the more interesting characters to adapt to her own AAA title. Jessica Jones works as a hard-nosed private investigator, usually investigating creeps, cheaters, missing persons and whatever else the local police don't want to deal with.

Incorporating Jones' superpowers with her investigative abilities could make for a fun gaming experience. Throw in a cameo from Luke Cage and you could have something really special here.

2 The Inhumans

The-Inhumans-Lockjaw-Statue

Walking down Broadway, instead of gazing at the famous Charging Bull statue, you'll find the Inhuman's alien dog, Lockjaw instead. This possible spin-off is really just a back-up in case Marvel's Avengers ends up falling short.

With such a long list of heroes to play as including Black Bolt, Medusa, Gorgon, Karnak the Shatterer and many more, this would be an obvious next step for a superhero group video game. This would also be a perfect opportunity to bring co-op gameplay to these game, which would be a highly popular addition to the superhero franchise.

1 The Punisher

The-Punisher-Costa-Family

While this vigilante was never actually directly referenced in the game, there is some evidence that he could be operating somewhere in New York. For one, during the opening sequence of The Heist DLC, there are a number of crime families operating in the area including the Cicero Family, the Fortunato Family and others.

However, the one that deserves special mention is the Costa Family which, if you didn't already know, executed Frank Castle's family in Central Park, causing him to become the Punisher. With Punisher's expertise on gun and hand-to-hand combat, along with his other special skills of interrogation and intimidation, it's a wonder why this character hasn't gotten his own title since 2005.
