In just a few short weeks, Spider-Man: Miles Morales and its predecessor Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered will be out on the PS5’s November 12 launch day. And while many are excited for the remastered version, despite the surprising change that will be made to protagonist Peter Parker’s face, it looks like quite a few fans of the PS4 version of the game are going to miss the old mug of the web-slinger.

When it was first revealed that developer Insomniac Games would be changing the facial model of Peter Parker for technical reasons, the audience’s reaction was a mix of disappointment and confusion. Some bad-actors took it as far as to threaten the lives of some of the developers over the changes. Now after some time has passed, some fans online have decided to have one last hurrah for PS4 Pete.

Fans have taken to places like Reddit and Twitter to make some posts to homage the face of John Bubniak, who is being replaced by the face of Ben Jordan in order to better match the movement of voice actor Yuri Lowenthal.

Posts range from fans saying they will simply miss the old model, to some a bit more interesting, like a seemingly romantic tweet with a compilation of clips of the old Peter Parker and a caption that reads, “thinking about him.”

Other than these nice peaceful homages, it seems that now the dust has mostly settled and people have come to accept Peter’s new face. After all, there is no going back, as Spider-Man: Remastered has gone gold, along with Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which will also feature the redesigned Peter Parker face.

The voice actor who has and will continue to play Spider-Man, Yuri Lowenthal, tried to also lessen the blow of the change with his joking that the change was technically required due to the “stupid bones” in his face.

Lowenthal is also a bit of a real-life mentor to Miles Morales actor Nadji Jeter as it turns out, who landed his first big role with the PS4 Spider-Man. In a recent interview with Game Informer, Nadji talked about getting to know Lowenthal during their work together on the first game, and learning a lot about the ins and outs of the voice acting industry from him.

Spider-Man: Remastered releases as part of the Ultimate Edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PS5 on November 12.
