Nearly two years after Marvel's Spider-Man released for the PS4, fans are still discovering things planned by developer Insomniac Games but ultimately hidden away in its code, such as an unused Spider-Cop alternate suit. However, other fans are actively creating their own content for the open-world action game, such as one player's mod that adds Wilson "Kingpin" Fisk to its roster of usable characters.

YouTuber jedijosh920 uploaded a 10-minute video of a playable Kingpin mod Wednesday that swaps Peter Parker's character model with Fisk, just one of the many Marvel Comics villains that appears in Spider-Man PS4. Nothing about the player's abilities or voice lines change to reflect the much larger, hulking figure. It's a purely aesthetic mod, which leads to some funny results.

There are numerous moments throughout the showcase video where Marvel's Spider-Man actively breaks down trying to handle itself without the titular character at the forefront. Kingpin glitches into walls as he clumsily runs up the sides of buildings, he skids across the floor without moving his legs during combat, and in a cutscene with real Kingpin, the inserted character model has a ridiculous face plastered on.

That being said, the mod isn't completely broken. It is still fun watching Kingpin acrobatically flip around during both combat and web-swinging sequences, and there are fun references slipped in like being able to swap Kingpin's business attire for an orange prison jumpsuit. For those who are interested in playing Kingpin, like WWE star Paul "Big Show" Wight, this mod would make for a fun time.

However, jedijosh920 has not made their mod available online for anyone else to download — which makes sense considering the game is exclusively on PS4, meaning it is likely a lot more work to incorporate than something on Steam Workshop like a Crusader Kings 3 mod that makes characters nude. Fans will just have to watch the creator's video to get their fix of Kingpin action, as well as other mods for games like Spider-Man PS4 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Those who want more from Insomniac Games' Spider-Man universe also do not have to wait long to jump back into the suit and swing around New York. The upcoming next-generation PS5 will feature Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which will run at 4K and 60FPS according to Insomniac, and continue the story set up by Peter Parker's adventure on the PS4.

Marvel's Spider-Man is available now on PS4.
