While there are a number of suits to unlock in Spider-Man, such as the vintage comic book suit, there's one suit noticeable missing: the black symbiote suit. Now, during a recent interview, creative director Bryan Intihar weighed in as to why, which essentially boils down to two reasons. It's worth mentioning, however, that the second reason contains SPOILERS.

Spider-Man director Intihar began by explaining that it simply wasn't the right time. After all, the symbiote Venom and Spider-Man have an intense comic history, which Insomniac seemingly wants to captivate. Intihar suggested that this story was something Insomniac wanted to tell but didn't want to just drop into the game as an unlockable suit.

In fact, Intihar's exact words were

"I think something like that suit deserves its day in the spotlight. I think just making it an unlockable suit wouldn't be doing it justice. It's one of the best stories for Spider-Man. I think it's a complex story. And I think it's a story that needs to be told, and it needs to be told the way Insomniac would tell it."

This explanation fully supports the second reason, which is where the SPOILER comes into play. In a post-credits scene, Harry and Norman Osborn tease the symbiote, Venom, coming to the franchise. This would make sense as to why the symbiote suit hasn't yet been added to the game, as it could be that Venom is featured in a forthcoming DLC that follows the City That Never Sleeps or in a follow-up to Spider-Man's popular action-adventure title.

Regardless, capitalizing on the popularity of the symbiote Venom and giving the character its justice would be a wise move on Insomniac's part. Considering this Spider-Man PS4 title is the fastest-selling Marvel game to date, Venom's inclusion in a DLC or in a future game would only help push it to new heights. Tell us, Ranters, how do you want to see Venom appear in the Spider-Man video game universe?

Spider-Man is available now for PlayStation 4.
