The highly anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home has had fans anxiously waiting for its release, and it appears that excitement has just risen to another level. The official trailer for the upcoming MCU entry has reportedly leaked ahead of Sony officially debuting it.

The Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer reportedly leaked Sunday all over Twitter and TikTok before Sony rushed to take it down. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the leaked trailer, with unfinished CGI, was confirmed to be legit and featured new footage of the ensemble cast. After sending one copyright notice out, Sony couldn't stop the spread of the leaked trailer, which immediately began trending and would eventually make its way to YouTube.

There has been plenty of buzz circulating the film that Disney and Sony have carefully kept under wraps in the past year. Other than building off of the success of its predecessors, Spider-Man: No Way Home was confirmed to feature Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange in a lead role, which stirred rumors of the multiverse playing a part in the film's storyline. But that wasn't all. It was reported back in October of 2020 that Jamie Foxx will be reprising his role as Electro from 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and in December 2020 Alfred Molina's Doc Ock from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 was reported to be making an appearance, confirming the multiverse's existence, which will surely expand MCU's phase 4 in new and exciting ways. This also led to a swirl of rumors involving Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, Charlie Cox's Daredevil, as well as Tobey Maguire's and Andrew Garfield's version of Spider-Man all returning, although none of them have been confirmed.

Spider-Man: Far From Home, Mid-Credits Scene

Tom Holland, who is infamously known for sharing spoilers, recently shared a post on his Instagram story that seems to address the recent leak and possibly hints at the arrival of the official 1080p trailer, posting “You Ain’t Ready!” Sony's event at CinemaCon on August 23 has many fans believing the trailer will be shown there or released to the public sometime later this week. Kevin Feige recently stated that a Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer will debut before the film's theatrical release, which goes without saying. With Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals releasing before Spider-Man: No Way Home, it's very likely the trailer will be presented ahead of one of those premieres.

Spider-Man: No Way Home's cast will also include Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson. So, if all the casting rumors are true, it appears Holland's Spider-Man won't be lacking companions.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to release in theatres on December 17, 2021.
