The hype for Spider-Man: No Way Home is unprecedented at this point, with fans all but ready to see Tom Holland's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man swing into the Multiversal action. With a little over two weeks to go before the film hits the big screens, Sony Pictures India has just confirmed that it’ll be arriving just a tad earlier in the country, and even revealed a new poster.

The new Spider-Man: No Way Home poster once again features Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange along with Holland's Spider-Man. The two seem like they are ready to go into battle. Alfred Molina's Doc Ock also makes an appearance, not in his entirety though, as just his tentacles are visible. What stands out is the bright red font used to mark the release date of December 16.

Up until this point, December 17 has been marked as the premiere date for Spider-Man: No Way Home, even though fans know that they will be able to book tickets for the evening of December 16 in North America. When the Spider-Man: No Way Home tickets went on sale on November 29, ticket sites across the US crashed because they were unable to keep up with the demand. Sony Pictures India has now made it a point to focus on the earlier release date in the country, which probably means that fans will be able to watch the film a whole day in advance. It is unclear at this point when the tickets will go on sale there.

On its official Twitter account, Sony Pictures India also revealed that the film will be released in multiple languages in the country. Apart from the English language, fans will be able to watch the film dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. An IMAX poster has also been revealed. The film is currently being marketed as the next biggest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Spider-Man: No Way Home could be the first Phase 4 MCU film to hit China.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will deal with the consequences of Spider-Man's true identity being revealed to the public by Mysterio. After approaching Doctor Strange for help, Peter Parker and the Sorcerer Supreme will have to deal with a botched spell that sets the Multiverse into action.

Several villains from the past and alternate universes are set to appear in the upcoming project, including Doc Ock, Jamie Foxx’s Electro, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, Sandman, and The Lizard. Fans are convinced that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will also be joining Holland as their respective versions of Spider-Man, but it remains to be seen whether this theory will in fact be true.

Spider-Man: No Way Home premieres in theatres on December 17, 2021.
