Spider-Man: Miles Morales emerged as one of the bright spots of the PS5 consoles launch line-up. The spin-off of 2018's Spider-Man threw players back into New York City to swing around as the city's newest wall-crawler and plenty of suits to fit players' styles. Sideshow Collectibles connected with one suit in particular which will immortalize Miles Morales and a friendly local feline as its latest Hot Toy.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales follows Miles months after the events of the 2018 game as he learns what it takes to be Spider-Man. He is thrown into the proverbial deep-end when Peter Parker goes out of town and Miles is suddenly beset by the high-tech crime group The Underground, the shady energy corporation Roxxon, and how his new role as Spider-Man changes the relationships with those closest to him.
Sideshow Collectibles showed off their latest Spider-Man Hot Toy on the company's Twitter as part of Micro Con 2021. Instead of going with the stock suit, Miles is instead sporting the unlockable bodega cat suit for the sixth scale figurine. While he is still in his spidey-suit, Miles is also sporting a hoodie and non-descript sneakers to keep warm while out swinging. He also has his backpack on hand because like Peter before him, he's trying to balance his Spider-Man duties with school.
However, the crown jewel for most people is undoubtedly Miles' masked, feline companion in his backpack. Spider-Cat is on full display, though his identity is safely hidden behind a properly-sized Spider-Man mask.
The list of suits available in Spider-Man: Miles Morales is just as eclectic as the suits available in 2018's Spider-Man. The bodega cat suit emerged online as one of the favorites, thanks, in part, to the feline hitchhiker who will occasionally get involved in the action. Other popular suits seen in the game were the animated suit, inspired by the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series, and the Into the Spider-Verse suit, based on 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The latter of those two proved very popular as developer Insomniac retained the choppier animation style for the suit to retain the overall aesthetic from the hit animated film.
Sideshow Collectible's newest Hot Toy is hardly the first toy line based on the hit PS5 launch title, either. Sideshow first released a series of Cosbaby collectibles, with five releasing shortly after the game's launch and more available for pre-order. Another figure and two collectible statues are also available for pre-order, though no solid release dates have been announced for those.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
