Spider-Man: Miles Morales was one of the highlights shown off during the PS5 Showcase. As indicated by the title, this game follows Miles Morales after the events of 2018's Spider-Man, which became one of the PS4's most popular exclusives.

Miles has been a fan favorite since his debut, having his own comic series, film, and novel, as well as making a lot of appearances in other adaptations. After all this time, he is finally starring in his own video game. Fans learned a lot about what Insomniac Games has been working on but there are still some questions that need answers.

10 What We Learned: Game Or Expansion

When Spider-Man: Miles Morales was first revealed, fans weren't sure if it would be a game or an expansion of Marvel's Spider-Man. Sony had said that the game was an expansion while Insomniac Games said it was a game, causing a lot of confusion. It turns out that it is a game but that it isn't as long as the previous installment. It is expected to be similar to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy in terms of length, which was very successful despite being short.

9 Question We Have: Will There Be Other Playable Characters?

Miles is obviously going to be the main star of the game. However, Peter Parker was the main character in the previous title in which Miles and Mary Jane were also playable characters. When playing as Peter, fans were engaged with fighting enemies and exploring the city. Meanwhile, Miles and Mary Jane's gameplay focused on stealth levels. Now that Miles has his own powers and is fighting crime, perhaps players will be able to control other characters in this game during different types of missions.

8 What We Learned: Plot

The story takes place a year after the first game and things have changed a lot for Miles. He has learned how to use his powers, his mother is running for office, and he now lives in Harlem. During an election rally, Miles fights against the Underground and Roxxon, who are also fighting each other. Throughout their battle, Miles also meets the Underground's leader, the Tinkerer, and saves the civilians that are in danger due to their strife.

7 Question We Have: Who Is The Main Antagonist?

Marvel's Spider-Man had a lot of villains for players to take down. The game began with Mister Negative and the Inner Demons serving as the antagonists. As time went on, Mister Negative joined Doctor Octopus, Electro, Rhino, Scorpion, and Vulture to create the Sinister Six.

Roxxon and the Tinkerer may seem like the main antagonists of the upcoming game but there could be more villains as players progress through the story. Who the final boss is going to be is anyone's guess right now.

6 What We Learned: Release Date

One of the things that gamers were most excited about learning in the PS5 Showcase was the release date for the console. The PS5 is coming to Australia, Canada, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, South Korea, and the United States on November 12, 2020. It will be available everywhere else one week later, on November 19, 2020. Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a launch title for the console so it will also be available on those dates.

5 Question We Have: Is It Open-World?

Spider-Man overlooks the city

Marvel's Spider-Man had a huge open-world that allowed players to travel all around New York City. Due to this game being shorter and Miles living in Harlem, fans are curious as to whether this game will take place in an open-world or if it will have a linear story. Most fans want a similar open-world to that of the first game. It has also been revealed that Miles is not only fighting crime in Harlem, but also in other parts of New York. Perhaps players will get the chance to return to the map from Marvel's Spider-Man.

4 What We Learned: Platforms

The next generation of console gaming is approaching with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. A lot of upcoming games are planned to only release on these consoles as an incentive for fans to buy them. Since the game was revealed back in June, fans knew that it would release on PlayStation 5. It was originally thought to be a PS5 exclusive but it turns out that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also release on the PlayStation 4. Those that aren't getting the PS5 when it first releases are happy to know that they are not missing out on this experience.

3 Question We Have: Who Is The Tinkerer?

The Tinkerer in Miles Morales

As stated previously, the Tinkerer is the leader of the Underground and one of the antagonists of the game. However, the Tinkerer that fans saw in the trailer is quite different compared to the version from the comics. Phineas Mason, the comic version of the character, is an elderly inventor who has helped Spider-Man's enemies in trying to defeat the web-slinger.

The version of the Tinkerer in the game seems to be an entirely different character. For starters, the Tinkerer has a feminine voice and is clearly much younger than Phineas. Whether the trailer is misleading fans in order to surprise them when the game comes out or if there is a new face behind the mask and under the hood remains to be seen, but fans are excited regardless.

2 What We Learned: Price

Gamers have known for a while now that the price of video games will be increasing with the next generation of consoles. Some games have already been revealed to be $69.99. With the systems coming later this year costing up to $500, gamers are concerned, especially for games that they could potentially beat in a few hours. Luckily, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is only going to be $49.99. An Ultimate Edition that includes a remaster of Marvel's Spider-Man will be available for $69.99.

1 Question We Have: Will There Be DLC?

Though this has been confirmed to be a game rather than more content for the previous title, more DLC may be coming to the franchise. Marvel's Spider-Man had DLC that kept players coming back for more. After each DLC was released, they all became available as Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps, which will also be available in the Ultimate Edition of the upcoming title. The first DLC, The Heist, had players help Black Cat before she betrays Peter. Turf Wars, the second DLC, continues the story of The Heist, and gave Yuri a bigger role. The last DLC, Silver Lining, brings an end to the story the DLC had as a whole, in which Hammerhead was the main antagonist. Silver Lining ends with Miles training, which will lead to him becoming the next Spider-Man and Harlem's hero.
