Considering it is the fastest selling Marvel game to dateSpider-Man has a lot going for it, to the point that its recent honest trailer still has a positive tone. The trailer does point out a few issues with the game, as they traditionally do, but still ends on a note that is sure to make those who do not yet have the game want it even more.

To make some of its points, Smosh Games makes references to the heretofore most popular franchise entry, Spider-Man 2, with which the trailer compares its traversal system. As many would likely agree, this latest entry's web-swinging mechanics are the most fine-tuned of the Spider-Man franchise. It also compares the Spider-Man's Peter Parker to both Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire, while also taking cheap shots at the various enemies, calling one known enemy PhotoShop Filter Man.

Perhaps the largest criticism lobbied against this entry is that it is a collect-a-thon, with the open world of New York City being filled with every type of gaming collectible and activity imaginable. Nevertheless, at least these collectibles seemingly have a purpose when contrasted with the balloons in Spider-Man 2, with which Smosh Games shares a few choice words. Check it out below:

Smosh even references the number of suits in the game that are crafted from the collected currency awarded by the aforementioned collectibles. Of course, most of these are popular suits, with some based on the comic version of the character or Avengers: Infinity War. Arguably, one of the most popular suits would be the symbiote suit, which Insomniac chose not to include this time around.

All of this and more has contributed to the success of Spider-Man and indirectly resulted in this positive honest trailer treatment. Enjoy some laughs from the above video and let us know, Ranters: What do you think of Spider-Man's honest trailer?

Spider-Man is available now exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
