Today is a big day for those looking forward to Marvel's Spider-Man. Developer Insomniac Games officially announced the game's release date, confirming that the game will be out this fall. But that's not all, as collector's editions for the game have also been announced and Insomniac has begun to tease story-focused DLC and cosmetic suits too.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Insomniac Games confirmed that in addition to the standard version of the game, there will be two pricier versions of Marvel's Spider-Man that include some extra goodies.

The Digital Deluxe Edition of Marvel's Spider-Man costs $79.99 and includes the game as well as "new story chapters with our post-launch DLC series" which is called Marvel's Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps. Although exact details on this DLC have not been provided, Insomniac does confirm that there will be three new chapters in total, with each of them adding new missions, new characters, new villains and new outfits for Spider-Man.

The game does include the classic Spider-Man suit, Insomniac recently confirmed, and a teaser trailer for the DLC offers a look at the Spider-Punk version of the character. Though, it will be interesting to see which other get-ups Spidey is able to sport in the game.

Marvel's Spider-Man Collector's Edition DLC

There's also the more expensive Collector's Edition which is $149.99 and includes all of the aforementioned digital content as well as a Steelbook case, a mini artbook by Titan Books, and a statue by Gentle Giant. However, the image of the statue is incomplete and it's unclear exactly what Spidey is perched on in the statue at the moment. The full image will be revealed at a later date.

Marvel's Spider-Man is already one of the hottest PS4 exclusive games, but in case people need an extra incentive to get it, Insomniac Games is also offering several pre-order bonuses. Pre-orders of any version of the game include the Spidey-Suit Pack, the Spider-Drone gadget, a PSN avatar, and a PS4 theme designed by Adi Granov. Those who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition in the US or Canada will also bag themselves a limited edition collectible pin (it will be mailed to them).

The game is already shaping up to be quite significant and full of riveting moments, such as the subway showdown with Mister Negative. So while Insomniac Games is keeping its cards close to its chest regarding the game's DLC, no doubt plenty of hardcore Spidey fans will be waiting with anticipation to find out more.
