J.B. Smoove, who is best known for playing Leon Black on Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm, revealed that he will reprise his role as Peter Parker’s teacher in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The latest Spidey film wrapped production earlier this year and is part of Phase Four of the MCU.

Smoove last played Julius Dell in 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home. The film took place following the events of Avengers: Endgame and saw Peter Parker help Nick Fury takedown mysterious creatures called Elementals while on a European school trip. The film’s post-credit sequence revealed that the Nick Fury and Maria Hill whom Peter Parker was working with were Skulls in disguise. Far From Home earned positive reviews from critics and grossed over $1 billion worldwide on a $160 million budget.

Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Marisa Tomei are all set to return in the third Spider-Man installment. While specific plot details have yet to be released, Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx are reprising their respective roles from previous Spider-Man iterations. Molina notably played Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus in 2004’s Spider-Man 2, while Foxx starred as Max Dillon/Electro in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Marvel Studios' No Way Home was directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

During a recent episode of The Daily Zeitgeist, Smoove confirmed that he is in Far From Home. "I don't know how many people have done it, but I'm in both the Marvel and DC universes,” said the comedian, while adding, “I've been in Spider-Man: Far From Home and just did the new Spider-Man too and I'm Frank the Plant in the Harley Quinn animated universe.” While promoting the previous Spider-Man film, Smoove joked that he’d like to star alongside Martin Starr in a revival of the Power Man and Iron Fist franchise for Marvel Studios. Starr played Peter Parker's academic decathlon teacher in the first two films and is expected to return for No Way Home.

Benedict Cumberbatch is also set to appear as Doctor Strange in the film. Marvel previously confirmed that there’s a narrative correlation between No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Multiverse will have an important part in the wall-crawler's next film, which is rumored to have a live-action Spider-Verse element. Cumberbatch will likely serve the mentor role that Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark/Iron Man played in Homecoming. Meanwhile, the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel is being helmed by Sam Raimi, who ironically directed the original Spider-Man trilogy.

Of course, Marvel Studios and Sony have been tight-lipped when it comes to web slinger's next adventure. However, that hasn't stopped fans from assuming past versions of Peter Parker will appear in the film, despite efforts to deny such rumors.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to be released in theatres on December 17, 2021.
