The newest chapter is live in Spellbreak, the class-based and spellcasting third-person battle royale and team-oriented shooter from developer Proletariat. Chapter 2: The Fracture is available now in Spellbreak, and it comes with map updates, a new 5v5 objective-based mode, Leagues (ranked play), a bevy of gameplay updates, and more.

Spellbreak has come a long way since it launched in September 2020. The updates that Proletariat put out are rather meaty, giving the players a lot to look forward to. Game Rant was able to demo Spellbreak Chapter 2: The Fracture, and came away with a good impression of all the content that was provided.

The 5v5 objective-based mode named Dominion is one of the biggest additions in Chapter 2: The Fracture. With the game starting out as a battle royale, it is nice to see Spellbreak expand with more modes such as this. The addition of ranked Leagues in Spellbreak is also a welcome one, as players can rise through the tiers and earn rewards each season. The northwest region of the map also receives an overhaul in Spellbreak this season with new points of interest, things to explore, and more.

The new season of Spellbreak also comes with Ascending Outfits, as players can complete quests to unlock a unique Outfit type. Like with many games as a service style game, the new chapter provides the perfect opportunity for developer Proletariat to fix bugs, apply matchmaking improvements, refine the UI, make gameplay and balance improvements, and more.

Spellbreak is available for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
