2K Games' trailer for their latest shooter, Spec Ops: The Line, has been released at this year's E3. The trailer features a group of soldiers fighting another group of non-uniformed soldiers in a post apocalyptic Dubai. The first thing that's notable about this trailer, and that sets it apart from other shooters, is that it uses a slight element of horror. With the  bodies hanging from light poles, fear is added to this type of war-field in a way that we haven't seen in dozens of shooters before. While it has no direct voice narration, this trailer conveys a story. Sadly there is only a few split-second scenes of actual game-play. The rest are cut-scenes.

Upon watching this trailer, the first thing that came to mind was, "this reminds me a lot of Modern Warfare series." The problem with that is, once you already have Modern Warfare 2 on the shelves, and the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops in November, then why would you want this game? Unlike Modern Warfare and the upcoming CoD: Black Ops, this game seems to take place only in one setting. Also when comparing to the latest Black Ops trailer, this games seems to be much more docile in terms of action.

Spec Ops: The Line does have two things in its favor: it seems to actually have an interesting story, and it is a third person shooter. While the Modern Warfare series has somewhat of a story, you're still just some soldier fighting against another nameless soldier. When looking at this trailer, each soldier seems to have their own personality that is not covered up or kept impersonal by a helmet.

I could keep comparing the two, or you guys can come to your own conclusion by checking out the trailer..
