Space Punks was just unveiled last week from Polish studio Flying Wild Hog and it looks to blend together its inspirations from Borderlands and Diablo to make an entirely new live service looter shooter. Now, the developers have revealed the game's early access plans and some more details on what players can expect.

Flying Wild Hog is mostly known for the reboot Shadow Warrior series and the upcoming Shadow Warrior 3. The Polish studio has never worked on a live service title before, but its ambition shows that the studio is aiming pretty high with its first try through Space Punks.

The new details on the game come from an interview that Flying Wild Hog studio head and game director Michal Kuk did with IGN. In the interview, Kuk revealed that Space Punks will be available later this month in early access as an Epic Games Store exclusive for at least the first year. Kuk said that eventually, the game will support full solo and cooperative play, a story-focused campaign, a variety of endgame activities, and character builds featuring both abilities and a range of powerful gear. With all of that laid out, it definitely sounds as though Space Punks will be taking some cues from its Diablo and Borderlands inspirations.

In the interview, Kuk says that this will largely be the case. One example that Kuk provides is that the development team behind the game looked to FPS games like Borderlands or their own Shadow Warrior for ideas on how the combat should work in Space Punks. Kuk says that the game will feel like an FPS despite playing from an isometric perspective. As for where players can expect the game to go throughout early access, the team says that Destiny is a good example of the sheer amount of different activities and types of content that the team is aiming to have available in Space Punks.

It will be very interesting to see what shape Space Punks take by the end of its time in early access. With it being a live service game it seems like a good move on the part of Flying Wild Hog to get it in players' hands as early as possible to help the team build the game with feedback and suggestions from its community. Hopefully, the team is able to combine its various inspirations to make something truly unique. With the team's other games also in development like Shadow Warrior 3 and its recently revealed western horror shooter Evil West, there is a lot to look forward to from Flying Wild Hog in the future.

Space Punks launches in early access on the Epic Games Store on July 14.
