About a couple of weeks ago, Bandai Namco Entertainment officially confirmed the return of Yoshimitsu to the roster of the forthcoming fighting game Soul Calibur 6, giving many fans hope that other favorites of theirs would be coming back as well. Now, the publisher and developer has revealed the inclusion of another popular character from the series, by releasing a new gameplay trailer featuring the nunchucks-wielding warrior, Maxi.

As seen in Maxi's reveal trailer below, the latest addition to the Soul Calibur 6 cast list is depicted with his treasured Fatibal wooden nunchaku, which he uses to unleash the powerful Shissen Karihadi fighting style against his opponents. Several fighters are on the receiving end of his fast flurry of furious attacks, with the likes of Nightmare, Zasalamel, Mitsurugi, and Kilik all getting a quick beat down by Maxi.

For those unaware, Maxi has been a playable character within every main Soul Calibur game to date, so his inclusion in the franchise's sixth entry likely won't come as much of a surprise to fighting game fans. After all, it seems as if Bandai Namco Entertainment is sticking pretty close to series regulars with SC6's roster, with the only new characters having been revealed thus far being the double saber-wielding Groh and the guest fighter Geralt of Rivia from CD Projekt Red's The Witcher games.

All things considered, while it's definitely great to see Maxi and his quick maneuvers make a return in Soul Calibur 6, one can only hope to see some other fresh faces be shown off at some point in the future. While there's no telling who Bandai Namco Entertainment will reveal next, perhaps we will get confirmation of a never-before-included character being welcomed into the stage of history during E3 2018.

Soul Calibur 6 is set to release at some point in 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
