Confirmed IPs

If last year's E3 press conference for Sony is any indication of what's to come during the firm's presentation for 2017, fans tuning into the live stream below ought to expect some big news. 2016's showcase featured the first official public reveal for Santa Monica Studio's new God of War, SIE Bend's Days Gone, and Insomniac Games' forthcoming take on Spider-Man.

Since then, there haven't been too many major announcements involving these specific titles. With this being the case, it's possible we will get the release date for both God of War and Days Gone, and at the very least some actual gameplay for Spider-Man.

Naughty Dog Games

Of course, Sony has lots of other irons in the fire at the moment, and it will likely dedicate a portion of its time during the E3 2017 press conference to these projects, too. Naughty Dog is definitely one of the major studios Sony will be relying on to continue its console marketplace dominance.

Naughty Dog could decide to offer up some fresh gameplay footage for  The Last of Us: Part 2 during Sony's E3 showcase. Of course, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy might also be on display, but that's simply conjecture at this point in time.

Long Shots

As far as long shots are concerned, there's also the chance that Sony could highlight Square Enix's Final Fantasy 7 Remake with a guest spot at the event since it was absent at E3 2016. However, prospects of that happening look low considering that its release date is so far away.

The same can also be said for the highly anticipated role-playing game, Kingdom Hearts 3. Then again, it may not make an appearance simply because it still needs a lot more development, and due to the fact that a gameplay trailer for the Disney-centric RPG was already revealed a couple of days ago ahead of the conference.

Surprise Announcements

As far as what Sony has in store for surprises during its E3 press conference, it's really anyone's guess. While the safest bet to make is that the company will stick to displaying its slew of games on the way, there's a possibility it could opt to reveal some Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay to further solidify a partnership with Rockstar, or it could debut a new piece of hardware it has in the works.

Several months ago, it was revealed that Sony applied for a patent involving schematics similar to that of the Nintendo Switch. Should the company unveil a device at E3 2017 to compete with Switch, it will definitely turn more than a few heads.
