Sonic Frontiers is the newest Sonic game in the famous franchise. In this open-world game, this blue hedgehog will come across a variety of different kinds of puzzles, from tiles to speed puzzles. But there is an oddity on the third island; there is suddenly a pinball mini-game as part of the main quest line, and players will need to complete it to move on. The machine gives players a seemingly impossible number to get to, and some players may be on the lookout for a little help to get them through this challenging side quest in the newest 3D Sonic game.

The Pinball Game will be hard to miss while playing Sonic Frontiers; players will need to complete it in order to move to the next island, called Rhea Island. In central Chaos Island, the game will prompt players to chat with Tails, and he will lead players to the pinball's location inside the volcano.

How to Complete the Pinball Mini-Game

Whether players love pinball games or not, they may be overwhelmed by the mini-game's beginning. After its cutscene plays, the screen prompts players to get at least 5,000,000 points. This overwhelming number needs to be completed with just three pinballs, collecting as many rings as possible; unfortunately, Sonic's skills won't help players out on this puzzle. Here's a little help to get players to that massive number a little quicker.

First and foremost, make sure to collect red rings as often as possible; the hitbox on the red rings is fairly generous, so players will just need to hit the ball in their general direction. Red rings add to the point multiplier in the bottom left part of the screen.

Next, and this might seem pretty obvious, but try not to sacrifice any balls. The loss of the ball will reset this multiplier back to zero. Thankfully, red rings seem to show up fairly regularly, so players shouldn't have any trouble getting those numbers back up pretty quick if a ball is lost.

Press the paddle buttons while the ball is rolling down the paddle; if the button is pressed too early, it will cause the ball to only bounce up a little, then fall back to the paddle. When at all possible, aim for the edge of the paddle. This will up the chances that the ball ends up in the top portion of the pinball machine, which is the best way to build up a massive number of points. Hopefully, players won't have too much trouble with this mini-game, and they can move on to get closer to the true ending of Sonic Frontiers.

Sonic Frontiers is available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
