Sonic Frontiers is an open-world Sonic game with some massive enemies that players will have to battle against in the style of Shadow of the Colossus. Each titan will challenge players to use everything in Sonic's arsenal in order to win.
Giganto is the first Titan that players will come across in the huge Starfall Island map that makes up Sonic Frontiers. It will be the boss of the first island, Kronos Island, and players may need a few hints in order to fell this massive beast and help to bring Sonic's friends back from digital exile.
Climbing Onto Giganto's Head in Sonic Frontiers
In order to get the fight started, Sonic will first have to climb up the body of Giganto. Zoom toward one of the Titan's legs when it is on the ground. Then, run up Giganto's body, hitting all the boost rings that line its body. If Sonic hits the rings just right, it will launch him into the air above the Titan's head, allowing him to target the spikes on its back. Players should smash into these targetable spikes in order to land on its back. Next, look for the Chaos Emerald on its head, the press interact with it. A custcene will play and Sonic will become Super Sonic for the first time in Sonic Frontiers.
Phase One of Giganto
Make sure to lock onto Giganto and repeatedly attack. The goal of this portion of the fight is to do as much damage as possible as quickly as Sonic can. Most of this Titan's attacks in this phase can be dodged with parry or Sonic's Wild Rush skill. While Sonic cannot take damage during this fight, an attack from the Titan that lands can knock him out of the fight, which means Sonic will have to start from the beginning again.
Sonic slowly loses rings while in Super Sonic mode in Sonic Frontiers, so he will eventually "die" if the fight takes too long. Make sure to do all the damage needed to kill the Titan before the timer runs out.
Phase Two of Giganto
Once Giganto is at half health, a cutscene will play to move onto the second section of this fight The vast majority of the damage in part two of this fight is going to take place during quick time events. Players will need to mash multiple buttons as the prompts show up on the screen. Click or press the indicated button as quickly as possible, sealing the fate of Giganto.
