At E3 2017, Sega gave fans a brief glimpse at a brand new villain set to make his debut in the upcoming Sonic Forces. Now the mysterious hedgehog-like entity seen at the end of the E3 2017 trailer has been given his own trailer that showcases his powers and reveals his name.

The new villain in Sonic Forces is named Infinite, and he is a powerful hedgehog that appears to possess some sort of psychic abilities. In the new trailer, we see Infinite team with Dr. Eggman to battle Sonic and Tails, and Tails notes that Infinite is even faster than Sonic. There's still a lot we don't know about Infinite, but it's clear by this trailer that he poses a significant threat to Sonic, and should give him a run for his money when the game releases later this year.

This new trailer gives fans their deepest dive into Infinite's character so far, but as previously stated, there's still a lot we don't know about him. For example, we don't know where Infinite came from or why he has decided to team up with Dr. Eggman to fight Sonic and the gang. Another mystery is how he developed his incredible powers, which seem to have made him one of the most formidable foes in series history.

Infinite's mysterious origins will likely be explored in Sonic Forces, so don't expect too many more details to be revealed between now and the game's launch. Once the game is available, it will be interesting to see how Sonic and his friends are able to defeat Infinite, and if this new villain has any ties to the new customizable character.

These answers and more should come to light once Sonic Forces launches later this year. Fans should stay tuned for a specific release date and more information on the game in the months leading up to launch.

Sonic Forces will be available this holiday season for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
