There are five different endings to Somerville, and players that want to earn all the game's achievements will need to see every one of them. That said, the way to obtain all the endings may not be immediately obvious, and there is one ending in particular that many fans will struggle to access. It is with that in mind that this guide is being written, and players can find details on how to see all of Somerville's endings in what follows.

Somerville: All Endings

Resignation

somerville all endings

Players can access the Resignation ending from the third checkpoint in Chapter 13. Upon loading this checkpoint, fans of indie video games should proceed until they pick up the flare and then use their blue ability to walk through the back wall. Players should continue moving in this direction until they encounter a couch, which should be sat upon until the ending is triggered.

Resignation Reprise

somerville all endings

This ending is earned through the communication with the red, purple, and blue aliens that occurs at the end of Chapter 14. More specifically, players should join the ring of people, hold their hands (by holding the interact input), and then use the red and blue abilities to recreate the patterns that are put forward by the aliens. For the sake of full clarity, here are the patterns that will be entered for this ending:

  • Pattern 1: Blue, Red, Blue
  • Pattern 2: Blue, Blue, Red
  • Pattern 3: Blue, Blue, Red
  • Pattern 4: Blue, Blue, Red

A house will appear in the center of the room after these four patterns have been made, and fans of sci-fi video games should enter it to trigger the ending.

War of the Worlds

Players can trigger this ending by simply holding both the blue and red abilities, sending an unending purple wave across the ring of people, in the Chapter 14 communication.

Family First

This is yet another ending that is triggered during the Chapter 14 communication, and fans of cinematic games will use these three patterns this time around:

  • Pattern 1: Blue, Red, Blue
  • Pattern 2: Blue, Blue, Red
  • Pattern 3: Blue, Blue, Blue

An orb will appear in the center of the room when the final pattern has been entered, and players should approach it, insert their arm into the illuminated hole, and use the blue ability. Fans of adventure games should then repeat this process for the red hole and the purple hole, using the abilities of the corresponding colors, to earn the ending.

Understanding

For this ending, players will once again be required to enter specific patterns when interacting with the aliens in Chapter 14. Here are those patterns, and fans of atmospheric games should approach the family and pass through the door after entering the last one:

  • Pattern 1: Blue, Red, Blue
  • Pattern 2: Blue, Blue, Blue, Purple, Purple, Purple
  • Pattern 3: Blue, Blue, Blue, Red, Purple, Purple
  • Pattern 4: Blue, Blue, Blue, Red, Purple, Purple, Red, Red, Red

Somerville is available for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
