It has only been a few days since Animal Crossing: New Horizons released its free 2.0 update and the Happy Home Paradise DLC. As players go through the incredible amount of new content in the ACNH update, some fans seem to already be voicing out their opinions and disappointment with the latest additions in the game. Their ire seems to center around the much-awaited special villager Brewster, and the seemingly missing features that fans have come to expect from his cafe.

One of the staple special villagers in the Animal Crossing series, Brewster is well-loved by the game's fans. First introduced in the Nintendo DS title Wild World, Brewster owns and manages a cafe called The Roost. Players can visit Brewster every day and develop a close friendship with him over time. Brewster is given a bigger role in New Leaf, where players can actually work part-time in the cafe, serving the town's villagers cups of coffee that are customized to their preferences. Therefore, with New Horizons seemingly not offering the same kind of features as New Leaf, it is understandable why fans would express their frustration about the update.

Several Redditors have posted their own threads on the online platform to voice out their disappointment in the lack of activities in Brewster's cafe. User buymetroiddread posted that they were expecting a lot more from their interactions with Brewster in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. They had hoped that the update would also include the interesting part-time mini-game into the title. Another Reddit user, WildFlower 225, shared the same sentiment, stating that though they love the free 2.0 update with all of the new additions, they were specifically disappointed with Brewster. They also mentioned that ACNH is their first Animal Crossing game, therefore they could see the feature more objectively, and without nostalgia that seems to.

Other fans also posted their thoughts of Animal Crossing: New Horizons Brewster's cafe on Twitter. Several Twitter users such as mush and Luce aired their disappointment. Mush pointed out that they were hoping that there would be some development with Brewster as time goes by. On the other hand, Luce seemed disappointed about the lack of free sitting space in The Roost. They mentioned that in the previous game, players would mostly be free to hang out anywhere in the cafe when it was open.

Despite some players being frustrated, a great many Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans are generally happy with Brewster and The Roost. Their recommendation to these disappointed players is to keep visiting Brewster, and eventually be able to unlock some of the cafe-specific features included in the free update.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available on the Nintendo Switch.
