The main type of collectibles in Solar Ash are the various suits that players can obtain for the protagonist, a space explorer named Rei. However, these suits require a few steps to unlock, most notably finding the hidden Caches that hold their pieces.

While it's always worth exploring every nook and cranny in Solar Ash, players can do a few things to narrow down where Caches are hidden. From talking with Cyd at each area's central point to knowing where to spot hints, one definitely has some tools to make their search easier.

How To Get Cyd To Scan For Caches

After getting the signal of an area to be more stable, players can interact with Cyd at a central point in every location for a few useful services. In addition to being able to help players change their suit and recharge a shield cell, Cyd can also scan for Caches.

However, keep in mind that this will not give you the exact location of any Caches; Cyd will only tell you how many remain in the area. For example, if you have 2 suit pieces left to find, Cyd will say so. After collecting every piece of a suit in an area, players can return to Cyd to change into it.

Blue Symbols On Walls

The sign of the Voidrunners, the group of space explorers that Rei and Cyd belong to, is a light blue circular symbol with a dot inside of it. This symbol can be found leading to all hidden areas that hold a Cache. As such, players should keep their eyes peeled for it on trees, walls, cliffs, and more.

Vertical Blue Beams Of Light

The body of a Cache is a purple pod that will have a blue beam of light shooting out of the top of it. This beam can be seen from quite far away, so look for them whenever one is at an elevated position.

Ledges, Nooks, & More

In the open world of Solar Ash, players have a lot of freedom to explore. The game developers give one incentive to investigate areas by placing Caches in spots that are pretty out of the way from the main objectives. One thing to look out for are patches of climbable black goo, as these can allow players to scale walls and ledges to areas that can't be seen from most angles.

Speaking of being hidden from sight, Caches also love to be within nooks and crannies. If one spots a narrow passage that doesn't seem to lead anywhere, be sure to check it out, as there could be a Cache within. These can be within ruined cities or out in the wilderness of the void-torn planet, so be vigilant in order to spot them.

In heavily urbanized spots, Caches can also sometimes be found on top of buildings. While hunting for collectibles, it can be wise to get on top of tall structures to see if there is a Cache there. Furthermore, such high areas can be great for spotting Caches from afar as well as other points of interest.

Solar Ash is available on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Playstation 5.
