The announcement that Warner Bros. would be funding the so-called "Snyder Cut" of the Justice League film for HBO Max was shocking, and every reveal about the project since has been that much more surprising. The Justice League Snyder Cut is coming to HBO Max in 2021, perhaps in hours-long episodes, and most surprisingly it'll do it with zero new re-shoots.

According to The Wrap, Warner Bros. approved the Snyder Cut of Justice League so long as no new footage is recorded with the film's cast. Snyder and his team will have to use only his previously recorded footage for the film. By all accounts, however, there's more than plenty to work with.

The Wrap later adds that Snyder wanted reshoots for his cut of Justice League, it should be noted. Fans may yet question what the Snyder Cut could have been even after the release of the Snyder Cut as a result, but Snyder himself will be content with what Warner Bros. is allowing him.

While the Snyder Cut won't have any reshoots, that doesn't mean Snyder's arms will be held behind his back. The report also confirms that Snyder will be able to record new audio for his cut of the film, but who is recording audio and for what parts of the new film remains the question.
