It has been a very eventful year so far for the hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, with the icon joining Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent for a performance during the Superbowl LVI half-time show. The rapper also recently purchased Death Row Records, the record label where Snoop Dogg got his start as an artist, releasing legendary albums such as Doggystyle and Tha Doggfather, as well as releasing albums from artists such as Dr. Dre and 2Pac.

Snoop Dogg has also found himself in the gaming and tech space, with the rapper regularly streaming himself playing games such as Madden NFL on Twitch, as well as being part of various NFT projects. Now, Snoop Dogg has set his sights on the Esports world, it may seem like the hip-hip icon is completing life's side quests at this point.

FaZe Clan has announced that Snoop Dogg will be joining its board of directors and representing the brand as FaZe Snoop. In a press release, FaZe clan stated that "Snoop Dogg will bring his extensive entertainment industry insights and his passion for Web3, gaming, and culture as FaZe Clan charts its course as a public company," with the Esports organization beginning the process back in October 2021 following a merger with BRPM.

Snoop Dogg added that "It only makes sense to partner with FaZe Clan as both a team member and on the Board of Directors. The youth identifies with their brand and that's something my son Cordell knew, which is why he brought us together," while FaZe Clan's chief strategy officer Kai Henry added "The organic relationship between FaZe and Snoop has been building for years now, so we are thrilled to officially welcome FaZe Snoop to the family. As the original internet kid and first-generation gamer, Snoop has always understood the cultural connection between music, lifestyle, and gaming."

Although the rapper is now officially part of FaZe Clan, don't expect Snoop Dogg to join their Esports teams, although it is expected that Snoop Dogg will create content for the brand. There are a number of celebrities who are officially part of FaZe Clan but aren't pro gamers including NFL star Kyler Murray aka "FaZe K1," LeBron James Jr. aka "FaZe Bronny," Lil Yachty aka "FaZe Boat," and Offset aka "FaZe Offset." FaZe Clan has also recently been putting more emphasis on content creation and lifestyle, although the organization has still won 32 championships, the organization has signed a number of popular content creators including NickMercs, Sway, Adapt, and Cizzors, as well as the company releasing many lines of merchandise all featuring the iconic FaZe logo.

This isn't the first time that Snoop Dogg has made headlines in the gaming world over the past 12 months, with Snoop Dogg rage-quitting while playing Madden NFL 22 on Twitch before accidentally leaving his stream live for seven hours before ending it. And most recently, Snoop Dogg has been leaked to be the latest Call of Duty Operator, with the rapper expected to join Vanguard and Warzone during Season 2.
