Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 was recently released on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4, with a PlayStation 5 version set for later in the year due to a delay following "unforeseen technical issues." The game continues the series' tradition of offering huge open levels for players to explore, filled with sniping spots where players can pull off headshots from incredible distances and bases for people to infiltrate using their stealth skills and gadgets.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is, as things stand, the most critically acclaimed entry in the long-running series. The series' sixth game currently has a PC Metascore of 72, which is a significant improvement from the lackluster 50-60 scores that the series usually receives. The recent acclaim for Hitman 3 has likely helped Contracts 2's perception from critics, as it has a similar concept of only offering a few levels but packing tons of content into them. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 has many fundamental differences to Hitman 3, but it shares large, well-designed open levels that players can get lost in and find numerous different ways to complete their objectives.
Exploring the levels in Contracts 2 isn't just good for mapping out how to take out targets and infiltrate bases, as there are also numerous collectibles to find in each level that offer an interesting story or insight into an NPC. In the pictures below, the collectible's location is depicted through the white dot within the blue cursor. After finding a collectible, its description is automatically unlocked. Cassim's Wife's Scales
Cassim's Wife's Scales is a bit tricky to find, as it's located within the map's dark forest. Thankfully, the collectible is next to a large, crashed helicopter to make locating it slightly easier. Head to the helicopter, then shine a light near the front of the chopper to find the collectible lying on the floor.
The Collectible's Description
"Once upon a time, there was a poor man named Ali Baba, who accidentally found a cave which served as a thieves' treasury. When Ali Baba brought a sack of gold after finding the thieves' hiding place, he borrowed scales from his sister in law to check how much gold he had. She put a tiny piece of wax in it earlier to check what did Ali Baba weigh and discovered his secret."
Cassim's Donkey
Like many collectibles on this list, Cassim's Donkey is located within an enemy base, so be sure to map out the surrounding area before venturing to the location pictured above. The collectible is near to the area's sniping spot, leaning up against a tree close to the cliff's edge.
The Collectible's Description
"Ali Baba's brother, Cassim, also wanted to get the gold, so he found out where the cave was. Greedy Sassim took a donkey with him to steal as much of the Thieves' treasure as he could, which slowed him down and led to his death."
Moments Before Cassim's Death
Like the previous entry, Moments Before Cassim's Death can be found near the edge of a cliff. Head to the cliff edge pictured above, and look for a small staircase-like rock formation; the collectible will be there next to a backpack and bottle of water.
The Collectible's Description
"Cassim forgot the word which opened the cave, was stuck in it and was later killed by 40 thieves. They were furious that someone discovered their secret."
Taheer's Notebook
Taheer's Notebook is located in a square room at the top of the large wooden lookout tower. Head into the room, and the collectible will be on a small bedside tower at the head of a bed.
The Collectible's Description
"Taj Taheer's Notebook. Am I paranoid? Isn't escaping Kuamar a bit too much? I'm still in power after all, when I leave everything will be... different. The ruler who leaves is perceived as weak. I fought for Kuamar for so long, my parents are so proud that I've claimed their motherland back. I need to meet the handler before I leave, he certainly has a plan. With his help, I will do what it takes to make Kuamar a free country, even if I have to get rid of anyone who opposes, what I believe in. I know I'm right."
Villager's Notebook
Much like Taheer's Notebook, Villager's Notebook is lying next to a bed. Head inside of the small house located where Raven is standing in the picture above, and the collectible will be on the floor at the foot of the bed.
The Collectible's Description
"Villager's Notebook. I hope that these people will be gone before they turn our whole village into a military base. At least they have built an airport, opened a way to the world! Our village has great touristic potential. Father was always so strict, focused on tradition and unable to open his mind for the new ways of things. We could be rich! And maybe even live in the fort one day, Salma would definitely marry me if I lived in a place like this... She's so modern... I'm afraid she'll leave to Europe soon if this place stays so boring. We have an airport now after all."
