Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 was recently released on June 4, 2021, and has been fairly well-received by fans and critics, exemplified by its current 72 critic score and 7.8 user score on Metacritic. The game picks up where its predecessor left off by giving players wide, opens levels to explore, with numerous objectives to complete in each. As the game's title suggests, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 isn't exactly DOOM clone, as players must opt for stealth and sniping to complete objectives, as alerting too many enemies will quickly result in an overwhelming enemy force taking the player down.

Thankfully, players have a few tricks up their sleeve, as there are numerous gadgets that Raven can bring on missions to supplement his trusty sniper. It may be tempting to just go full Rambo and solely rely on weaponry, but in Contracts 2, especially on higher difficulty settings, utilizing the game's range of gadgets is essential for survival.

8 C-4 Explosive

C4 description

For a game that is predominantly centered around stealth and taking out targets inconspicuously, a C-4 Explosive may seem like an odd choice to bring on missions. However, the loud explosives are certainly worth considering, as they are extremely effective against two of the game's toughest units: vehicles and heavy armor.

Ideally, the player will be able to sneak past vehicles or snipe heavy armor units in the neck, however, sometimes this isn't feasible, and the C-4 is a great backup option to have.

7 Gas Mine Trap

For those who want a plantable explosive like the aforementioned C-4 but don't want something loud, then the Gas Mine Trap is a great alternative. The explosive won't be able to take out vehicles like the C-4, but it can help eliminate pesky enemy patrols. Many enemies in the game walk along set pathways, so with a bit of patience, the player can work out the perfect spot to hide the trap.

Moreover, Raven's mask makes him immune to the Gas Mine Trap, so players don't have to worry about inflicting an embarrassing death upon themselves.

6 Med-Kit

Med kit description

Anyone who's ever played a first-person shooter is probably familiar with the concept of a med-kit. Although many players try to complete missions undetected, there will inevitably be times when they slip up, resulting in a flurry of enemy gunfire.

Consequently, it's always worth taking the Med-Kit on missions to give players a better chance of survival when things go awry.

5 Warning Device

Warning Device description

In all five missions of Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, Raven has the sole responsibility to complete the objective. Unfortunately, this means that the player has no one to look out for enemies when they're lying in a single spot lining up targets with their sniper. This can, of course, result in enemy patrols surprising the player and killing them before they have the chance to react.

Thankfully, there is a solution to this, in the form of the Warning Device. The device does exactly what it says on the tin by warning players of impending enemies. Furthermore, the device isn't just for placing behind the player when they snipe, as it can also be thrown at enemies to immediately tag them.

4 Smoke Grenade

Smoke Grenade description

Like the aforementioned Med-Kit, the Smoke Grenade is something that any first-person shooter fan will be familiar with. As the name suggests, the grenade emits a cloud of smoke, masking a certain area and allowing the player to escape if intelligently placed.

Smoke grenades tend to get a bad reputation, as they're fairly redundant in many shooters like the Call of Duty series. However, they shouldn't be underestimated in Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 since they may well end up saving the player's life on more than one occasion.

3 Throwing Knife

Throwing Knife description

The Throwing Knife is a tricky weapon to use, especially when trying to hit a moving target. However, if the player can get the hang of it and start throwing the knife with solid accuracy, then it can be one of the most effective weapons in the entire game.

The Throwing Knife will kill most units instantly and won't alert nearby enemies, provided they don't witness the attack unfolding. Moreover, the knife can be collected, so it's possible for players to use the weapon indefinitely if they keep an eye on where it lands.

2 RWS SR-50

RWS SR 50 description

The RWS SR-50 is a deployable sniper that can do the players' dirty work for them. The sniper initially has a range of just 200 meters, though this can be improved to a whopping 1000 meters through upgrades.

RWS SR-50 is ideal for taking out mid-ranged targets in heavily guarded bases, as players can place the sniper a fair distance away from where they're hiding, diverting the enemies' attention and allowing Raven to escape the scene undetected.

1 MUAV 'Falcon'

Muav falcon description

The MUAV 'Falcon' is a fantastic gadget for numerous different reasons. For starters, it's perfect for mapping out certain areas thanks to its impressive mobility, letting players scout enemy bases, escape routes, vantage points, and more from a safe distance.

Furthermore, the MUAV 'Falcon' can tag enemies and hack electronics, giving players an advantage when infiltrating enemy bases before they've even reached the area.
