In a game like Sniper Elite 5 players will need a variety of skills and a wide arsenal of weapons. Here are the best Pistols to carry during a mission. Tertiary weapons like Pistols are vital to carry around on the sort of missions players are sent on in Sniper Elite 5. They provide a variety of styles of attacks that involve close range and enable players to save on ammo as well as try something new on the battlefield.

While these weapons are customizable and can therefore be improved greatly, their base stats prove to be a good sign when comparing their use and power. So, while there are six very different pistols to choose from, some are arguably much better than others, especially when looking at the base stats.

6 Type 14 Nambu

Typically, when given a weapon after completing a tough mission while relatively far in this sniping game players would expect it to be powerful, deadly, and relatively easy to use. Unfortunately, the mission eight reward, the Type 14 Nambu fails to live up to those expectations.

It's got a high enough fire rate to just keep firing bullets at the enemy and has the magazine size of eight to back it up but what really lets this pistol down is the lack of damage it's capable of. There are weapons given to players in mission one that are stronger than this one and for it to be a reward so far into the game is just disappointing.

5 Pistole 08

With a higher rate of fire and a much better damage capability than the Type 14 Nambu, the Pistole 08 is a much better choice to make when choosing the best pistol in Sniper Elite 5. It may not carry the player through the entire game, but it will certainly hold its own against some closer and more aggressive enemies.

This is primarily due to the damage and rate of fire but also the decent magazine size that comes with it. All this enables the Pistole 08 to be the jack of all trades kind of weapon that does what players need it to do with little argument.

4 Welrod

Sniper Elite 5 Welrod stats

While the Welrod may be one of the first pistols many end up getting that doesn't mean it's not worth having. When comparing the base damage of the six available pistols, this one succeeds by far. That may be particularly promising for beginning players of Sniper Elite 5 since damage means the enemy will be felled quicker and will therefore put up much less resistance. There's also the small audible range that the Welrod encompasses, allowing anyone the chance for a bit more stealth if they need to.

However, the major issue around this pistol is the rate of fire. It's incredibly slow and only really allows the player to shoot once and hope it takes the enemy down. It's unlikely they will be able to get another shot in without their success being threatened purely due to how slow the Welrod is before upgrading. Even then, customising this weapon is rather pointless due to the better pistols available. Nevertheless, for a beginning gun, it's powerful and useful.

3 Model D

As one of the louder pistols in Sniper Elite 5, the Model D is the kind of weapon players will want to use when hoping to get the enemy down before they begin to get overwhelmed. Luckily with a relatively decent amount of damage per hit, this shouldn't be too much of an issue. Even if it does become an issue then the player can always use the magazine size of nine to offload a few more bullets if needed.

It's available after completing mission six and is really one of those weapons where nothing much is really wrong with it. The Model D can be upgraded easily and can be made better, there are just other pistols a little more powerful.

2 M1911

The M1911 is the first pistol players get to try out. It's the first time many have explored this weapon in a game like Sniper Elite 5 so is typically the crossroads whether players love this style of fighting or hate it. Luckily, with a damage output of 58 and a high rate of fire, many should leave feeling impressed.

The decency of this weapon isn't necessarily due to how powerful it can be, it's more how vital it is to get players involved in a different style of combat to the traditional sniper they're used to. Nevertheless, when stats and examined this is a quick, powerful, and relatively quiet weapon that will serve players well for a lot longer than the beginning of the game.

1 MK VI Revolver

If players are looking for a pistol that more than likely kills an enemy in one then the MK VI Revolver is the weapon to get hold of. It has damage that rivals the likes of certain rifles or sniper rifles throughout this game. It has a relatively slow fire rate, but that really shouldn't matter when it takes the target down almost instantly.

Along with the pure power of this pistol, its real strength is the time in which players obtain it. A weapon as powerful as this would be expected to be available in the middle to the late game, but the MK VI Revolver is given to the player at the end of mission two. Once this one has been equipped players will likely forget about any other of its kind, and rightly so.

Sniper Elite 5 is available now on: Xbox, Playstation, and PC.
