Beleaguered retailer Toys R Us is set to get an influx of SNES Classic Editions and Nintendo Switch consoles in time for Cyber Monday week. The company made an announcement on its official blog stating that both hot Nintendo commodities will be available, but it does not expect either to last long. In other words, those that are hoping to get their hands on the SNES Classic or Switch for themselves or a loved one should expect to line up early.

Starting on Monday, Toys R Us will have new SNES Classic Editions available, albeit at the full retail price. Nintendo’s retro console has been a hot ticket item since its release and many gamers are still struggling to find them. The Big N does promise to boost manufacturing for the SNES Classic to meet demand, but that is unlikely to impact the holiday stock. Just like the NES Classic before it, the SNES Classic is extremely hard to find and only the early risers have a chance of procuring one.

And for those looking to pick up the Nintendo Switch, Toys R Us plans to have more in stock on Wednesday. Again, the retailer expects that quantities will be limited so if you’re not there when the doors open then you’re taking a huge risk.

One can assume that the Switch stock will be greater than the SNES Classic stock because Nintendo has already had 8 months to boost production, but it’s hard to predict. That being said, it does seem like those that want to buy a Nintendo Switch are not having a hard time finding one. It may not be at their first option, but eventually one surfaces at a retailer.

Although Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy in mid-September of 2017, the retailer is still operating as if its financial struggles are not there. Currently, the company is looking for investors in an effort to keep stores going, but there have not been any announcements made on that front.

Perhaps news of Toys R Us’ filing may discourage some from patronizing the retailer, which will give others a better chance of picking up a SNES Classic or Nintendo Switch. Both are really well-made machines, so those that do get either should be satisfied with their purchase.
