Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's latest DLC, Kazuya Mishima from the Tekken franchise, is a character that has gotten many fans excited. With his incredibly detailed playstyle that takes inspiration and moves from the series he hails from, he's proving to be a rather fitting pick for the roster of Smash Bros. With all of the moves and techniques available for him to use, there is a lot to the character's moveset. However, players were not prepared for how incredibly difficult it would be to face an AI controlled version of Kazuya.

Balancing fighting game characters is no easy task, especially if you have a large playable roster. The franchise is no stranger to this, as Smash Bros. has built a history of overpowered characters over the past two decades. The community for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will usually claim that the latest DLC character is the most broken and needs nerfs, and Kazuya is now the latest target of this accusation. While some have had the chance to try out his kit, fighting against him is a different story, as even some professional players are having problems against a top-level Kazuya CPU opponent.

This powerful CPU opponent has resulted in pro players sharing their shock as to just how advanced and intelligent the AI was whenever they tried to fight against him. Others decided to have this AI opponent enter a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament where players can compete against the ruthless CPU player for a top prize. This culminated in a Level 9 Kazuya CPU winning a local tournament to the shock and amusement of everyone that was watching.

The main issue stems from the difference between what a human player can do and what an AI controlled opponent can do. This includes reaction timing, combo set up, and dodge windows. After all, a human player can only train to reach the peak of their own physical ability. On the other hand, the AI has no limitations and can accomplish things that are consistently frame perfect. Combine Kazuya's incredibly diverse set of moves with the highest level that an AI controlled opponent can have, and this results in Kazuya becoming on-par with some of the toughest fighting game bosses of all time.

Some players have already began crying out for a nerf of some kind to Kazuya or its AI, as these clips are providing evidence that Kazuya could be a gamebreaker in Smash Ultimate's meta. Others have taken it as a challenge to prove that the AI is not worthy of the hype, with gamers attempting to overcome the supposedly impossible odds that these CPUs are putting up. Regardless, Kazuya Mishima is already proving to be a memorable DLC addition.
