About a week ago, one Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fan decided to create a mod that added Waluigi to the game due to the fact that Nintendo chose to leave him off of the roster for the Switch exclusive fighting game. Now, it looks as if another player has been inspired to add more unofficial brawlers to the title by taking inspiration outside of the Big N's stable of iconic characters with the introduction of Marvel Comics' Deadpool.

In order to bring the Merc with a Mouth into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the modder known as DemonSlayerX8 used Snake as Deadpool's model, causing the Marvel Comics character to be in possession of all the abilities of the Metal Gear Solid protagonist. Considering the fact that a lot of Snake's moves see him using weaponry and explosives like mines and rocket launchers, the MGS lead's move set is definitely a fitting choice for Deadpool.

While DemonSlayerX8's Deadpool mod for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is unofficial, it's worth noting that this isn't the first instance of Wade Wilson being a playable character in a fighting game. As a matter of fact, the Merc with a Mouth was one of the more popular selectable fighters in Capcom's 2011 release, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Unfortunately, though, he was left out of the roster for the followup, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

Taking everything here into consideration, with Deadpool now having been modded into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there's no doubt that modders will start to try and incorporate plenty of other comic book characters into the fighting game with fan-made skins. And although it's unlikely to have happened, Nintendo would definitely score big points with Smash fans if they managed to secure the rights to any Marvel characters and actually plan on using them in the title's upcoming Challenger Pack DLC.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for Nintendo Switch.
