Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has pleased fans with a steady stream of content which has included some awesome fighters. There has been plenty of speculation about which fighter would be included as the final character in the Ultimate Fighter's pass. Many had a prediction that Dante from Devil May Cry would make an appearance, however, the evidence that supported this theory has quickly disappeared.

Super Smash Bros. has managed to include an incredible amount of fighters from the archives of Nintendo and from further afield games. Dante has been an acclaimed character in the Devil May Cry series for his cool attitude, and as soon as there was a possibility of his inclusion fans were excited. Unfortunately, the news about Dante is limited to updates of the Switch port of Devil May Cry 3.

Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition on the Switch is allowing players to switch Dante's fighting style seamlessly. Dante can now flick between Gunslinger, Swordmaster, Trickster, and Royal Guard styles much like he could in Devil May Cry 4 and 5. This will please many fans of the Switch port but will not be the announcement Super Smash Bros. players were hoping for. However, there has been a new leak that suggests who the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC 5 Character is.

While some fans believe the trailer leak that suggests Phoneix Wright from the Ace Attorney franchise will appear, others are sure Puyo Puyo will be the next fighter in Super Smash BrosUltimate. There will only be theories until January 16th at 9 a.m. EST, when the final fighter of DLC 5 will be announced. Whether fans will be pleased with the fighter remains to be seen but Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has already given players a variety of characters in this seasons Fighters Pass.

The future of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate looks bright with plenty of content still to come. Many players will want more fighters this year and it would be surprising if the game didn't deliver.  This edition of Super Smash Bros. has impressed with its fighter variety and it'll be interesting to see what the future holds for the game. Whether Dante will be making an appearance anytime soon remains to be seen, but the reaction to rumors of his inclusion suggests that many will be hoping that he does arrive in the game.
