Even though Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players just got their hands on Dragon Quest's Hero a couple of weeks ago, there's no doubt many are looking forward to the release of Microsoft's Banjo-Kazooie. Now, while there is still no official information as to their release, an anonymous poster has made the bold claim that they will release on September 24th or September 25th.

Before moving forward, it's worth highlighting that leaks often live or die by their source, and this leak comes from the most untrustworthy source of all: 4chan. That said, Banjo-Kazooie's addition to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster originally leaked on a 4chan board before being officially revealed. It's worth giving the leak a chance then, even if it does seem to be a tad bit early.

It does fall into line with the revealed window of fall 2019, but it feels too close to the release of Hero. Joker released in mid-April, and Hero came out at the end of July, separating the two DLC characters by more than 3 months. The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leak's supposed date would put Hero and Banjo Kazooie at less than 2 months apart. However, September 24th and 25th are also a Tuesday and Wednesday, which is usually a death knell for a leaked release date, yet it's noteworthy because these days line up with Hero and Joker's release, respectively.

Continuing on beyond the release date, the leaker also suggested that the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Banjo-Kazooie DLC will include more than 10 songs (including some remixes), an exclusive spirit board with spirits from the Banjo-Kazooie series only, and a new Boss Rush mode (though this could be pushed to DLC 4). The leaker would also say that the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character will be revealed during a Nintendo Direct sometime in September before Banjo-Kazooie's release, though an exact date for that hasn't been nailed down yet.

Ultimately, this sounds too good to be true and should be taken with a major grain of salt, but since 4chan has proven to be legitimate in the past, we will hopefully get confirmation on Banjo-Kazooie's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate release date sooner rather than later.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
