Steam is offering up the popular action-adventure game Sleeping Dogs at a heavily discounted price right now. The game is already eight years old, but as it is more or less a classic, this Steam sale is particularly notable among the gaming platforms many frequent deals.
Sleeping Dogs is set in contemporary Hong Kong, following the exploits of Wei Shen as he infiltrates and battles the Sun On Yee Triad organization. Even better, this sale isn't for the standard edition of the game; rather, players can pick up the Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition for extra cheap.
Steam's Sleeping Dogs deal prices the game at a very affordable $3; that means the game is discounted at 85% off, since its usual price is $20. And, as this is the Definitive Edition, included in the reduced price is a range of gameplay tweaks and technological, audio, and visual improvements that came to the game as part of its remastered release. The Definitive Edition also integrates all 24 previously available DLC extensions into the game.
A gritty true-crime drama, Sleeping Dogs allows players to explore the city of Hong Kong, make story decisions that could help (or blow their cover at any given turn), and take part in high-speed adventures and chases through the streets of the city, among many features. Wei Shen, the undercover cop in question, must make his way through the ranks of the organizations and prove himself, all while taking them down from the inside in secret. All in all, if anybody out there has been looking for a good time to get into, now seems as good a time as any to try Sleeping Dogs.
That holds especially true since filming may soon begin for the Sleeping Dogs movie that was first announced in 2017, as indicated by Star Wars and Ip Man actor Donnie Yen, who will reportedly be playing a major role in the upcoming movie. Despite all the time that has passed since the initial launch of Sleeping Dogs, clearly it retains its compelling nature.
Interested prospective players have about a week to take advantage of Steam's $3 Sleeping Dogs deal, as it ends on August 7.
