Netflix is no stranger to producing a rich variety of movies of all genres. It also doesn't shy away from creating its own horror movies. Its newest slasher film There's Someone Inside Your House has a lot to offer to all fans of this horror genre. A group of school outsiders has to figure out who's revealing the secrets of their classmates (and killing them) before it's too late.

Once the audience finishes watching the movie, they don't have to replay it over and over again. Luckily, for all those who enjoy the film, there are many slasher movies available that either use similar themes, focus on young heroes, work with the concept of lying and secrets, or do all of the above.

10 Scream (1996)

Wes Craven is generally considered one of the best horror filmmakers of all time. With Scream, he offers the ultimate slasher that no one should overlook if they love the genre. Even though the movie makes fun of slasher clichés, it's still intelligent and terrifying on more than one occasion.

Plus, Scream has the guts to kill the supposed protagonist soon after the movie starts. If the audience first watches this film and then There's Someone Inside Your House, they will realize that some slasher storytelling patterns seem to be immortal.

9 I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)

Even though I Know What You Did Last Summer isn't an old film, it still holds a unique position among other slasher films with young heroes. The reason is that it not only influenced later work but also started a series of films dealing with the same topic.

There's Someone Inside Your House deals with this theme a little bit differently but the things these films have in common go beyond just the fact they feature heroes are in well over their heads. The movies also share the storytelling detail that the characters' secrets threaten to become public, and it can have deadly consequences.

8 Cry Wolf (2003)

Cry Wolf 2005

One of the more famous teenage slashers shares a common element with There's Someone Inside Your House. In Cry Wolf, the lies spread by a group of characters influence the lives of others.

In Netflix's newer slasher, lies and secrets are what the killer decides to uncover. Both films create an air of mystery since it isn't obvious who the murderer is and what they want, which helps to keep the audience at the edges of their seats.

7 Tamara (2005)

Tamara 2005

Jenna Dewan shines in this film as the titular Tamara, a formerly bullied girl who comes back from the grave to get revenge on her bullies. Neither Tamara nor There's Someone Inside Your House shy away from drastic scenes, and in both cases, it's possible to argue that the characters had it coming.

However, nobody is all bad as both films manage to showcase. Tamara didn't get much attention from the audience but no fan of Dewan or teenage slashers should miss it.

6 April's Fool Day (2008)

Slasher films about a group of young heroes aren't as common as the viewers might think, despite their popularity. April's Fool Day mostly went under the radar. The main characters learn that it's never a good idea to play a cruel joke on other people.

In this case, the joke causes a girl's death, and a year later, the people responsible start paying for it. April's Fool Day and There's Someone Inside Your House show that even though it might take a while, bad deeds will eventually turn against those who committed them.

5 Ditch Day Massacre (2016)

Ditch Day Massacre (2016) leads students

Other than studying and partying hard, the students in American slasher films often end up facing a serial killer. And more often than not, as both of these films show, it's their fault the killer targeted them in the first place.

Unlike There's Someone Inside Your House, Ditch Day Massacre mostly takes place in a single house. What remains the same is that its heroes are very young and their pasts are less than innocent. Ditch Day Massacre didn't rank very high with the audience but the fans of the genre still should give it a try.

4 Stirring (2018)

stirring horror movie slasher

While not rated very high, Stirring is still worth watching for all fans of slasher films focused on revenge. Just like There's Someone Inside Your House, this film shows that sometimes the past actions of people can come back to haunt them and maybe even take their lives.

The difference is that Stirring takes place during Christmas, but it's possible to create an intense atmosphere regardless of when the story is happening, as both films prove.

3 Kill Game (2018)

Kill Game 2018

Making fun of others, let alone bullying them, doesn't always work out well for the bullies in horror films. In this case, a group of students who once tormented and accidentally killed their classmate, face a mysterious murderer.

Both films play with the concept of sins of the past, as the very first segment of There's Someone Inside Your House sees a student die because he tormented another student. However, unlike the main characters of Kill Game, the heroes of Netflix's film are more sympathetic, at least Makani and her group of closest friends.

2 Black Christmas (2019)

Black Christmas 2019

Even though Black Christmas focuses on a slightly older group of students than There's Someone Inside Your House, what connects these two films is the theme of a secret past. The main heroine, Riley played by Imogen Poots, has been through a traumatic experience.

When she shares it with the rest of the world, bad things start happening because someone isn't so happy about the truth coming to light. Once again, the film doesn't spare its heroes and it's clear not all of them will survive until the end.

1 Fear Street Part 1: 1994 (2021)

Fear-Street-Part-1-1994

Not long before Netflix introduced There's Someone Inside Your House, it premiered another horror slasher focused on a group of young friends who have to defend their lives. Although this film takes place in the 1990s, what remains similar is the intense atmosphere of horror and the fact that it doesn't shy away from hurting teenagers.

Another similarity is that not all of the main heroes are popular in their schools. In fact, they can often feel like outsiders, just like Makani, the main heroine of There's Someone Inside Your House, does.
