There will eventually come a time when The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim will no longer be the juggernaut that it currently is, but right now is not that time, it seems. As one of the best games to evoke mindfulness in its player base, there's still some life left in the Bethesda epic RPG. However, sometimes fans will take the elements that make the game memorable, and bring them into the real world, as this one fan did when it comes to the underappreciated pastime of pyrography.
In a recent post on the Skyrim Subreddit, user Ostepiraten uploaded a couple of splendid images which show off their skills in wood burning, specifically, they've managed to recreate Alduin's Wall in incredible detail. Those who are familiar with it will know just how intricate the one in-game is, so to take that image and burn it into a lengthy piece of wood is mightily impressive, as many in the comments have said in a roundabout way. The user said that it took them around 100 hours to complete, which includes drawing it on with pencil first.
For those who are perhaps less familiar with the game, the wall in question refers to the Alduin's Wall quest from the main Skyrim storyline, and, as the name implies, refers to a huge wall depicting a series of carved images that clue Esbern and the player in on how to defeat the titular dragon. It would have been easier, though still not exactly easy, for Ostepiraten to opt for just a generic Shout wall, but going for the enormity of this one makes the wood burning project, and outcome, even more impressive.

There is evidently something about the game that makes players want to bring aspects of it into the real world. Many Skyrim fans have recreated in-game elements, depicting them as they would look in reality, and showing their own particular set of skills. Everything from maps to weapons and costumes have been the subject of creativity and devotion to the lore, and it's probably one of the reasons why the decade-old title has stood the test of time.
Of course, there are many who are still eagerly awaiting to hear about the next installment in the series. With fans growing ever impatient over The Elder Scrolls 6, Bethesda ideally needs to make some sort of announcement soon about what's happening with it. There's a good chance that it's still years away from hitting shelves, with it apparently still in pre-production, but any word right now will be better than absolute silence.
