Even for 2021 standards, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is still considered a massive game. The open world created by Bethesda contains many different locations, along with numerous secrets to uncover. As people explore the world, they continue to come across many never-before-seen encounters in Skyrim. Recently, one fan had an interesting run-in with an enemy.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as rock-nar shared a video of them playing Skyrim. Taking place in an ice cave, the video showed an unexpected showdown the player had with a Falmer Nightprowler. The clip began with the player sprinting to the edge of a sheer drop-off. Across the chasm, they spied a couple of Falmer enemies, including an armored Nightprowler. Using a bow, the player took aim and fired at one of them. As the creatures moved across a rickety bridge to attack, rock-nar landed another shot, knocking the weaker Falmer into the pit.

Undeterred by seeing his counterpart fall into the abyss, the Falmer Nightprowler continued to advance. In response, the player proceeded to fire more arrows at the approaching enemy. Unfortunately, these missed their marks, allowing the enemy to come right next to the player. What happened next was both unexpected and hilarious. Just when it looked like the player was about to meet their doom at the hand of the Nightprowler, the enemy continued walking past the player. Ignoring rock-nar, the creature continued walking straight into the depths of the chasm. Shocked by the strange turn of events, the player looked down into the pit in disbelief.

This unusual yet comical video shared by rock-nar has become popular with the Skyrim community on Reddit. With an incredible 18,000 upvotes in only a day, many were taken off guard by the Falmer Nightprowler’s decision to walk off the edge of the cliff. Some players joked about how the name of the enemy made them destined to die in the chasm. “That's why they call them the Fall-mer,” one user quipped. However, another gamer noticed that rock-nar was sliding towards the drop-off before the video ended. Rock-nar replied, “I noticed it just as it happened and was able to save myself.”

Besides this odd encounter with a Falmer Nightprowler, another player had an unusual experience after being jump-scared by an NPC while exploring the area around Solitude. In a world as vast as Skyrim, the number of random encounters is nearly infinite. It will be interesting to see what players like rock-nar come across next during their adventures in the game.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available on PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
