Part of the fun of Skyrim is modding it to fix issues, add new features, or make the game downright silly. With the inclusion of mod support for the PS4 and Xbox One additions of Skyrim, fans were able to enjoy some of the fun of modding without having to play the game on PC. However, it seems that luxury will not be making its way to Nintendo Switch anytime soon, as Bethesda is not currently developing mod support for the Switch edition of the popular fantasy game.

According to an interview with Eurogamer at Gamelab, Todd Howard confirmed that mod support for Skyrim on Switch is not currently in development at Bethesda studios. “Right now we’re doing nothing,” Howard told Eurogamer. “People, they're on other things. Our Switch group did Fallout Shelter . . . and that's done really well. I'm surprised at how well it's done."

Howard went on to say that he and the studio want to bring mod support to Skyrim on Switch, but it is not something they are actively working on. It seems this is another letdown for Bethesda fans who are hoping for more content on Switch. Howard also confirmed that Fallout 4 will not be making its way to Switch any time soon, likely disappointing even more fans.

Bethesda seems to have its hands full developing larger titles, like Fallout 76, Elder Scrolls 6, and Starfield. These big titles were officially unveiled at E3 this year, and fans have high expectations for these new games. While it’s disappointing that mods and Fallout 4 won’t be coming to Switch any time soon, it does seem like Bethesda wants them to eventually, perhaps after development slows down for their bigger titles.
